In a traffic jam just now some ... hit my car and damaged the mirror. I was standing, so not my fault. Can I claim from insurance? Unfortunately he didn't crash, so I don't know who it was. sad.gif IIRC the insurance is of the fully covered type...

Fortunately the mirror itself wasn't damaged, just the outer casing, but I'm afraid repairing it will cost a lot...

I dont think its covered, and anyhow repair costs only around RM300 unless your car is BMW or better...
Its not worth it to claim your own insurance because NCD would be gone (probably worth around RM700/year)..

Unless your insurance is new no NCD yet then go for it

U can curse the bike rider in your heart. Really hate those silly bikers. Those irresponsible 1.
There was once when i was stuck in jam, a bike bang his front wheel on my steel side step when doing zig zag. Luckily, it's steel side step, no damage. XD.
Some scratches on body also happened before. So, just curse them will do.

Responsible motorcyclist will choose another way, o opt not to go through if vehicles are too close together.

Those irresponsible 1 will squeeze through without taking care of the vehicles. Do u want to hv your car scratched, or side mirror bent by those ppl, and not blaming them? Think.

Dude... what those motorcyclist is doing is called Lane-Splitting/Filtering ... which is illegal in certain part of the world.... so why cannot blame them? They are basically sayign their time is MORE important that car driver's time....

Ya sometimes car not at the center of the line, I don't know whether they are blind or having problem with their eyes?

Left lane car aligned to the right, right lane car alight to the left? Is the driver of the left lane car trying to kiss the right lane car passenger? What the f man!

If they stay right in the middle center of their lane this thing won't happen unless the bikers really stupid.

And when we bang their mirror, they curse us? Curse yourself first for being an ******* and please align your head and eyes properly next time, Ha ha ha!

Dude, if you want every bike stop doing that and stay in the lane, if today your traveling time is 30 minutes, you can expect it to become 1 hour because bike can't do this lane-splittine/filtering anymore. Please think of others as well. Don't be so self centered ignorant xxxx......I drive as well, when I saw them at the middle and I see myself not aligned properly, I move abit to so they can pass through. They can save their time, and I don't want them hitting my side mirror as well. I sometimes even see BMW or Mercedes flipping their mirror so that bikers can pass through. Even rich fella can think of other motorist, why can't you?

Bikes not suppose to cilok. They suppose to occupy the same lane as cars. Next time, drive a bigger car like a pickup truck. If they bang, sure pain for few days. Or reinforce the side mirror with steel plates like armoured truck. 1 bang sure pengsan.

I ride.. a CBR... and most of my riding buddies think those 99% of the kapcai riders like got appointment in hell for the way they ride...

Oh ya.. sorry if I dont drive around centered on giving 100% priority to kapcai weaving aorudn the roads .... if I dont ride liek that, I dont give stupid excuses to peopel who ride liek that.

Unless they drive waaay too irresponsible I don't mind giving way to bikers. But why must they do that at such speeds? Others drove past me standing in the same position, but they didn't bang my car. Is their time worth so much that they risk others property and their own lifes?

The mirror isn't painted, but the plastic casing is broken.

Thanks for the info on insurance, not worth it then...

Those Mercedes and BMW drivers are just scared something happens to their cars... and they just have to push a button to fold in their mirrors. Also that way they have no clue what is happening around them, so they can't be careful if someone tries to squeeze through...
