Sanko, thanks for your this superb informative thread. You saved me~!

I almost bought an alienware but luckily for your thread, I bought a much much higher spec gaming lap top; GT780DX that under my budget~!

I love it~! It is fast and solid build. For this price, I got everything that I always wanted.

So thanks again, Sanko. You are my saviour~!

Xu3r,
I hope you understand the the situation here. As predicted, the reception for the GT783 is not high. We initially didn't want to bring it in. But finally decided to do a pre-order with 5 units as the MOQ. Without pre-order, i guess our disti is not willing to bring it in. If stucked with 5 units of 6k+ product, it won't be good for anyone of us. And i guess 5 units of MOQ is pretty fair. It's just an option we created for users a change to own GT783 rather to closed the door straight away.

emy_xvidia, irangan,
Thanks for the support. I deeply hope the notebook won't fail both of you in present and future. That's the best news for MSI Malaysia. Cheers.

A big company will never accommodate to the market if there is very little demand for a product unless you ready to pay premium price for it.

You always have the option to get it from oversea ma. Of course paying premium price and risky warranty coverage for it. Give and take lo.

Okay what is the premium price? How much more?

Buying laptops from overseas other than countries near you , example singapore is okay.

But buying from US or Australia are high cost on shipping fee and no warranty for malaysia... even they do only 1 yr warranty part warranty only not full warranty .

Plus the things they provide are also not in asia version , the power cable and the adapter... is not 230w or 220w. Most of them are 180w which will interfere with our socket

My unit is from US, I have no problem with the power cable, just replace it to the UK version that we are normally using. You can easily find cables in computer shops and electronic shops.

Btw, the GT780DX comes with the 180W power brick, the power cable is the same that is used for computer desktop power supplies, it's definitely very common and easy to find.

Ya, the disadvantage of buying overseas is the lack of the extra 1 year warranty in Malaysia, I suppose that's all hmm.gif

Since not many are willing to afford the GT783, u might as well just order overseas smile.gif

So far there are 2 versions of the GT783R

a) with 128GB SSD, 750GB HDD and 16GB RAM (~2499USD)

b) with 2 750GB HDD and 12GB RAM (~2299USD)

Shipping fee costs that much? Wow.. U ought to requote that, mine wasn't that expensive and it included insurance..

USD2299 would be around RM7250+ currently, US currency went up, not good for u XD

Y not stick to the GT780DX? I believe it's powerful enough, how high end you want to go?

A Sager or Alienware M18x could satisfy your needs if you're really into the hardcore gaming. SLI GPU man!

Most of all, what's your budget?

I know GT780DX is good but to be honest it will be so late to buy that old notebook which release more than 6 months ago

GTX 570 and 580 is a huge difference ..

I just want to play high end games like BF 3 at least 40fps
