the feeling is annoying right -__- but i guess yours must be "annoying" to "disappointing and pissed off" now. haha

QUOTE(ykgen @ May 5 2012, 12:11 AM)
oh what headphone did u order?
*
Akg k518le. Wanted to get it locally, but it costs about rm200 more than the one selling in US. Didnt want to spend more cause i already spent enough for G55, so decided to get from overseas. But the bad thing is, AKG warranty is not international warranty. So any problems i have to send it back to US. I can deal with that.. hopefully unsure.gif

QUOTE(fabvader @ May 5 2012, 12:12 AM)
Guys any news on G75?? i really want to get this model..
*
So far nothing about G75 in Malaysia yet. Expected release should be around June. Like someone here mentioned earlier, thats around the time for Asus new product guide. But it is already available in the US.

Y is it dissapointing? dont forget that the g55 is still a strong laptop..but yeah, if you got more $, buy the g75, if got bugjet like me. Then the g55 is still a good gaming laptop
*
It is still a good gaming laptop. Cause i might be using this laptop for many years to come (maybe 4-5years?) to do my architectural works. So i wont be upgrading anytime soon. A SSD upgrade will be very useful to me, I'll be doing alot of multitasking on my laptop. And i know many will ask me to get a desktop instead, but i wont be staying at home most of the time. I'm staying outside, and sometimes i'll have to overnight in my school studio to do my projects. So a laptop will have to do for now, just for the conveniency. And also, cause im still a student, i cant afford/dont need a Precision laptop to do my works yet. And they're too expensive biggrin.gif so a gaming laptop is what closest to my needs now (aside from the occasion gaming) tongue.gif

QUOTE(ykgen @ May 6 2012, 12:55 PM)
Exactly, if u want to do more modding, then have to spend more for g75. Small size always compromize some features
*
well, guess i just have live with it then. I think it'll be sufficient enough. Also, like you, i dont mind the subwoofer. I'm getting a headphone soon, and will be getting more headphones in the future. Set my eye on this AiAiAi Tma-1 headphone already tongue.gif currently saving up for that.

edit: and cannot wait longer for a laptop anymore. Need one asap, cause i need to work on my portfolio and im starting my uni soon. Wouldnt mind the G75 really, i kinda like it more than the G55.

^exactly the reason why i cant wait for G75. Like i say, need a laptop now to my portfolio and im starting uni soon. Was abit disappointed that new G55 doesnt have a dual disk bay. And i thought G55 will have the similar accessibility to the fan like G75. Tarrak also. Guess i have to live with all that.

It seems like the G55VW uses an mSATA slot for the secondary drive.

And this would be the looks of the bay with the cover opened.

Then what seems to be the problem?bcos the battery can be fully charged and working 100%..
*
probably CMOS battery problem. I cannot be sure. The reason you can turn it on with the AC is that, once you passed the CMOS barrier (with the AC plug in to help boot ur laptop) your laptop then can only be run smoothly on a battery. Maybe its best to just get a new battery, but test it first and see whether it is really the battery faulty.

QUOTE(Arvinaaaaa @ May 7 2012, 10:23 AM)
well that was good call to the asus hotline..

1. g55vw HAS officially released in Malaysia.
2. he suggested me to wait until the ivy bridge cpu to be released, the asus product guide has the laptop name, and the shops has this laptop.
3. he said it wont be long until reviews come in, stock flow in, and experienced reviewers make reviews about this laptop..
4. no subwoofer and only 1 hd bay.
5. he stressed that i wait until the asus authorised reseller(shops) sell this laptop.
6. even he is not sure of the laptop performance coz no reviews.
7.he took my contact no and said he will contact when asus has released this laptop to whole of malaysia( very soon)
8. also he ask to check the asus malaysia facebook page.

this is all i can sum up from the 5 min conversation with asus malaysia.Im definitely waiting for it to arrive at shops that is asus authorised resellers(in front my taman got 3 shops). so it is up to you guys, whether you want to take the risk or not..it is like buying a preorder car, you wont know the performance, quality.risky.

and he also told me one more thing..since g55 has been officially released in malaysia, so you can buy from online resellers..totally safe.the question mark here is the performance and the quality of the laptop itself.to prove it, check the asus rog forum., got so many people having problems with the g75 in usa.

thank you.and it is all in your hands smile.gif

Added on May 7, 2012, 10:26 amoh yea, One more major thing, 2nd batch stock is arriving in large numbers..soon, according to him la..i dont know..i will wait for the 2nd stock la..
*
thanks for the clearing that up with Asus, Arvinaa. Appreciated it. Well, i guess my decision stays. I'll just get the G55 now. I cant find any other laptop that gives a similar performance at this price range that doesnt look like a IBM laptop (sorry sager fans, no offense) Also, dont think i can wait any longer either. I really need to start on my portfolio/works. Since it is the first generation of the G55, there are bound to be problems. Every laptop has their flaws. Lets just hope that none of us here ended up with a faulty unit.

so any buyer got their mouse when purchasing G55VW-S1095V?
BTW the unit do come with build in subwoofer.
*
So the unit really comes with a subwoofer? That's a bonus biggrin.gif

and why it will not have mouse and backpack? the previous G53 comes with a mouse and backpack as well. And may i know what kinda backpack they come with? is it this?

is gtx 660m better than gtx 560m by how much then?

because gtx 670m is gtx 570m rebadged

please post 3dmark 11 scores for gtx 660m plz
*
Gtx 660m is actually a good improvement over the Gtx 560m. If you're asking how much, i'd say around 20-30%. I'm guessing, with the two GPU that are mentioned above, i'd say that you're comparing the G75 with 670m with the G75 that comes with 660m? Just guessing.

An overclocked 660m will owned a stock 670m. But of course, an overclocked 670 > overclocked 660. But it comes down that what you need. Whether is it raw power that you seek for, or sacrifice a lil power for power efficiency? Cause while the new kepler architecture (660m) does not outperform the 670m, it will come in handy for power saving and stuff.

ya only normal bag, not backpack also. all the model ASUS G55VW-S1095V in Malaysia would be same. It is standard. Unless you found any come with mouse, do let me know.

the laptop is not coming with external sub-woofer liked Jay Chou Special Edition N45SL-VX021V but the sub-woofer is build-in.

I can only take the box pic, as it is seal for customer confident safety. you can look in my selling thread

G55VW

so its not the targus rog backpack? tongue.gif

guess i need to get another backpack. shakehead.gif

but this laptop is only 1 month old..i dont think it is the battery problem..before this,it work just fine..usually,after i fully charged the battery,i will remove it for a week +,then i will use it again..does this seems to cause the problem?
*
1 month old? I thought there were no longer available stocks for the G53 by then. Where did you buy it? I have never encountered such problem before, I usually on my laptop without the battery, leaving the battery out for days as well. Never actually had such problem. Howbout you try putting in a new battery? just to check if its really battery faulty or smtg is really wrong with your machine. Anything just send it back to Asus to claim your warranty.

exactly the reason why i wanted an AW biggrin.gif the 7970, which i believe it is the strongest gpu out there right now. Too bad im trying to save up. if not.. hmm.gif and do you think asus will include the future 680m in their g series?

bought it from a forumer Luminchung about a month + ago..my unit is g53sx nh71,US unit..problem is,how do i try with a new battery?thats the only battery i got..and claiming warranty with asus is such a hassle man..what if u try 1st if u can switch on the laptop while on battery only?
*
You mean i should try to switch on MY laptop while on battery only? I dont think i'll have a problem with that. And i dont recall seeing anyone here who cant turn on their laptop solely on their battery. But just letting you know, i dont own a G53. I will/might be a potential future user of the G55 though. Just trying to help you out with your problems smile.gif

although claiming warranty with asus would be a hassle, but if your problem still persists. Then i guess you have no choice. Maybe someone here with more experience can help you out? and were you in a hurry when you purchase this laptop bro? i remember the price for this model you're having is around rm4.3-4.6k. Am i right? biggrin.gif

Because i dont run them on battery most of the time, i use my laptop for long hours (overnight to do my works and stuff) so best if i take out the battery. And also because of games. I dont play games with battery on.

rm3999 for this laptop is very reasonable already.

but there are resellers here in LYN that are selling it for rm3899. Look for Gadgetguide and Oscarcomp.
