Simple. The rule is just exchange the same person of the same race. If they are unable to find someone to replace them, then have to go la if like that. Like this still you can see 1 Malaysia in the camp.
Second, its hard to brainwash someone to be patriotic if they are forced joining programs like this. Thus, if the program is a bad experience for them won't let their sense of patriotism gets any better. I would think that it would make their hatred towards the government more.
Then leads to more racism.

Yeah, just few months finished SPM. What about those who kena penangguhan?
Oh and, isn't it unfair for us that some 18 year olds out there who just "months ago finished SPM" are currently living their lives happily as a typical 18 year old?
How are we supposed to tell our experience to them? They would just laugh at how unlucky we are getting selected, wasting our 3 months live there, without gaining any benefits from the program when they can have all the fun outside, getting huge incomes, having all the time they want with their girlfriends and boyfriends or families.

The 3 months we have could be the time we spent with our families. Because once it is after March, a lot of students will go further their studies.
We don't have the time with our family, or friends by then. Well I think the daily scholar students have all the time with their families before PLKN. But is it fair for those who studies in boarding schools? How about those who studies in boarding schools that are far away from their homes and rarely have the time to spend with their family?

Oh and about "gaining friends of different races". I can predict that most friendship will only arise DURING PLKN. Those friendship won't stay long. Theres no point of it. At the end of the day (insert race) will only mix with (insert race) and forgot about the (insert race) friend they made during PLKN. Oh wait, will (insert race) and (insert race) will ever be friends? I doubt it.

Based on my experience in PLKN, no I don't see (insert race) will mix around with (insert race), laughing happily, eating together, sleep late together, talk this talk that together, NO. I dont see it. Well yeah, I only see it in class, where we are forced to mix around though. But outside of it, NO. I can say the aim of making friends from different races kinda failed. And what I see is (insert race) will keep on stereotyping (insert race), and vice versa.

Well maybe some (insert race) did try to woo (insert race) girls, but hey, which girl would fall over faceproblem who only know talk big and rude. Perhaps their own race would be impressed by it, but for us, NO.

No, I am not that racist. I would perhaps be impressed to be friends with girls from (insert race) who are educated, friendly, willing to talk English to me. If they want to talk in BM with me, why not? It depends on their behavior. If they are rude, closed minded, faceproblem also still want to think their race is the very superior, who would want to approach people like that?

so far i think that doesn't work. I have friends who have siblings who got drafted for NS but yet they too got NS. It's a random selection.

Also there's no way to run unless you really have some health problem that is fatal. Though i have heard cases of people BUYING fake medic letters. Try your luck.

Nah I don't need to go to that extreme to buy fake medic letters. If I chosen, then I will go,if not, then don't need go.Though I will prefer the latter.I rather use those 3 months to study,or work,or workout in gym etc.

There is a reason for everything that they carry out in CB class. I know, at first, I really feel like this is all so stupid + childish. But actually, if you just follow what they say and do the activities wholeheartedly, you will benefit. Maybe the way they present it doesn't really suit teenagers like us who craves something cool and matured. But that is all there is to it. If you get through their childish presentation, I assure you, you will gain something at the end of the day. Even my jurulatih said, if you come to plkn feeling totally rebellious, you won't gain anything. But if you have your heart like 50/50 willing for plkn, after 3 months, surely (and hopefully), you'll become a better person.

Like c'mon guys. Why would the gov dish out millions of ringgit building camps, feeding trainees and paying bus trips, if they know that PLKN won't bring any benefit to people like us, the teenagers. For sure they have done extensive research on what should and should not be done.

Sure you might have better things to do at home, say 'spend' time with family, work, get gf, lepaking with friends bla bla bla bla
PLKN is like, sacrifising something in order to obtain something else. And that 'something else' depends on whether you want it, or not. Which is all narrows down on your ATTITUDE. (Module 1) brows.gif

Oh and fyi, before I got into the camp, they all say the class are "brainwashing" government agenda dip shit stuff. Not true.
CB classes focus on character development, building that inner you with a vision and motives, and attitude with other people, how to be a good leader, and most of the activities are for you to loosen up and not be shy doing stupid stuff in front of people.

From my point of view (I'mma pelatih at Kem Titian Bintangor), it really is frustrating seeing other pelatih not taking part in the class. They don't speak much, never voice out their opinions on group discussions, hardly touching their modules, they really spoil the class IMO, especially for those who are really enthusiastic at learning.

Rather than just filling up the space in dat small, and sempit class, why not do other people a favour and take part.

p/s: This should even out the negative comments thrown by you people. Even I, as someone who don't really have any bad notions on PLKN, feels like shit reading all those comments.

pps: I'll miss my desktop for the next 2 months. Gonna go back today at 2 pm. sweat.gif

Some of your part of post is true . But still dont you think it's a waste of time joining PLKN ? Totally interupted with all the after-SPM plans , and the module part , dont tell me you dont know all those stuffs ? Like ''MUSTAHIL KE BOLEH'' , ''PERJANJIAN'' etc . I guess everyone knows it here . So , they are still like primary school out there that teaches us these stuffs ?

In my opinion , different people have different taste just like your post up there , just because you enjoy the class , doesn't mean that other ppl needs to enjoy it as well . sweat.gif sweat.gif

I dint read most of the posts coz there are too much stuff, but among the few topics that caught my attention were, 1)the M16 training 2)race and friendship and stuff
3)CB classes

i'll give my humble opinions on the 3 aforementioned issues stated above.

First of all,i was a trainee in the 1st batch of 2010 at Kem Geo Kosmo, behrang or tg. malim or something(somewhere deep in the woods),AND i gotta say, based on the stories from my friends at other camps, ive come to the conclusion that different camps have different rules and ways of running things. For example, some camps let u keep your handphones, some camps sleep in dorms, some in chalet style buildings, family visit days, etc etc. SO,that means there's no OFFICIAL way of how a certain issue like when the M16 training is done.

1)in my time, the M16 training was done in march, the final month, and the camp authorities had to transport us all the way to a place called Banting(coz they had a firing range there) to shoot the rifles, and no,they dint tell us to assemble the guns blindfolded. They M16 demos and stuff were done by real soldiers from the Malaysian army. I gotta say, like most activities in NS, if u dont really wanna take part coz ur scared or whatever, just sit back among the crowd and no one will tell u to do anything. Some trainees who were Real eager to hold the guns dint even have much time to assemble the guns due to the limited time. The army guys look like they rather be somewhere else anyway, but, they were real friendly and chatted with me.

2) No,i dont think that certain races always hang out with their own kind or whatever.Hell,im chinese but i dont even hang around with them inside or outside camp! This depends on yourself, the group i hang around with were a mixed bunch, malay, chinese, indian,Iban. This whole thing is down to urself really, if u never hang out with pipel of other races much before goin to camp, it wont change after u finish NS. well, after NS,i still meet up with the guys and girls from PLKN, have some drinks and stuff, and they are of all races. And i dont mean meeting up in facebook or whatever(i dont use facebook), im talkin bout a proper physical meeting. Real friendships will last, just depends on whether u met the right people.

3)FOR ME,personally this is what makes NS HELL! CB classes, i respect everyone's opinions, its a matter of perspectives but, im not the type of person who like to be told what to do, especially if its some KINDERGARTEN style work in a stuffy classroom with tons of pipel. i find CB to be full of birds,i mean drawing out how ur day went with magic markers, COME ON,were f***in 18 years old! besides, the classes are hot and stuffy. HERES WAT U CAN DO TO AVOID THIS BULLSHIT CB CLASS, tell the teachers ur sick and go lie down in the air-conditioned clinic room, but this will work better if ur frens with the doctor or medical officer in the clinic. The thing is,be friendly and try to form connections when u get to camp, THEN u can have an escape route when ur facing any undesirable activity. TO BE HONEST, id rather go marching(kawad) outdoors than rot in CB class.

At the end of the day,i have to say,PLKN is kinda a waste of govt funds, i mean, its just like a paid holiday camp for 3 months, they give u food, medicine etc etc. And i dont think i changed in any way, morally or patriotically or whatever. just came out with more friends,a certificate and 450 bucks smile.gif
