Massive traffic jam after Sg Bunus overflows and floods Jln Tun Razak

By REGINA LEE

KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy rain caused Sg Bunus to overflow and thigh-high floodwaters cut off traffic along Jalan Tun Razak in front of the national library causing massive traffic jams during peak hours.

According to SMART Tunnel tweet update the tunnel was closed to traffic to drain floodwaters at 4.38pm and was reopened at 6.30pm.

Meanwhile, Bernama reported that over 30 children were stranded at a kindergarten in nearby Jalan Semarak near TM Training Centre due to the floods.

Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue spokesman said two boats had been deployed to take the children out of the premises.

"We are in the process of taking them out to safe places," he told Bernama when contacted.

pull your handbrake for a few second while you're driving, it'll eliminate the screeching sound.  smile.gif
*
The screeching is usually from the front disc brakes. The handbrake is the rear wheel brakes. How does it eliminate or solve the issue? Pull the handbrake too hard while u're driving and u risk losing control of ur car's tail end (if the rear tyres are not in pristine condition).

If the noise is indeed from rear DRUM brakes, then it's because of the dust collected in it. Bring it to a tyre shop and ask them to clean it out using air gun.

guys.. still cant get good answer..if change tyre to 205/50/16 .. what the recommend tyre pressure?

is it still same as stock? 33 psi front, 31 rear... coz i have try pump d front tyre with 33psi but at cold condition - look a bit flat / pancit
*
It depends what tyres are u using, bro.

And recommended front pressure for 205-50-16 is 34-35 PSI, not too hard, not too soft, just right.

For the rear is 32-33 PSI.

Try 33 1/2 to 34 PSI first. That 5-10 KPA makes a lot of difference too.

http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1637104/all
U mean this rims? Nope u cant fit 15" tires on a 16" wheels.. The rims wouldnt even fit into it in the first place.. The ideal tire size for 16" and to maintain almost the same level of comfort is 205/55R16 size tires..
Well we have members here who use 16" and 17" rims too.. For me 17" gives very good grip, but at the expense of harsher ride quality..
16" gives a good balance between comfort and grip though..

Added on December 14, 2011, 1:59 am
Nope wont void at all.. No worries.. hehe.
*
205/55/16 confirm cannot masuk. Front tyres will be scraping against the fender when full steering turn is done. Back will hit bracket & side of fender if fully loaded.

Of cos the JB is popular cos jual muka lah.. When he was singing as a child of cos a lot of id1ots will be going like awwwwww, so cute... So then he gets a lot of likes, then after that Usher saw him that he is quite good, so kasi tolong sama dia lah.. Usher also will become famous as the person who discovered JB mah..
Stay in spore terus.. If u want to come back to jb after work, be prepared to fall in love with jams...
U planning to buy car in spore?  biggrin.gif
We spam too much.. ended up becoming on santa's naughty list..
Hmm mb is the bottom the bench seat there the hook.. Mb the sound is coming from there, and when u fold down the back seat the back seat presses on the bench seat and prevents the noise..
Haiz ya loh.. Sometimes here the replies are very sarcastic..
Not exactly.. It depends on the tolerance of the engine.. Most new engine nowadays have better tolerance.. So its safe to use 30 viscosity oil for a new engine.. ASSUMING that proton is quite up to standards in engine manufacturing.. I will be using AMS Oil 5W-30 for my car next service..
Yeah can.. But its recommended to use the oil from the start when the engine is new lah.. If u were to use 5W-30 for a tired engine.. Then the engine will seems to makan minyak hitam cos the oil seal wont be tight enough to prevent minor oil leaks and the piston rings also will have a bigger gap in between the cylinder wall and it..
Yeah..
I think for that money better get a continental car lah.. Even the Civic or Altis isnt really a good car.. for that car price, RM135,000, add on a bit more to 150k can get a better continental car such as Jetta, Focus etc etc.. These cars have very good NVH, handling is good, creature comfort is tip top.. and engine are very low FC.. Some more u wont have all this sound problem here and there.. When i can afford a mid range conti car im going for it for sure ady.. Not going to bother thinking of a japanese or korean car unless the specs and design is good and I have tried and tested the car properly.
AMSoil okok lah.. JB here quite cheap.. They bring in from spore..  icon_rolleyes.gif
Btw im not planning to use my car for long term lah.. if i were to keep my car for long term then probably it will be my spare car..
Personeauto means passanger car in Dutch.. The accident was in Netherlands..
It will lah.. Sometimes the brake shoe will lari a bit from the proper seating.. Putting some pressure on the brake pads while the car is moving will force it to realign the brake shoe properly.. True story.
LOL.. I in jb always see the sultan bringing his collection out for jalan jalan.. Those JZ XX numbered cars all mostly Holdens..
Change tire also maintain the same tire pressure.. 33psi front and 31psi back is more than enough.. Rmb that although the car tire will look kempis, when u start driving the car the air will heat up and the pressure will increase.. PSI means pound per square inch.. so when u pump 33psi for a tire whether 14" tire or 21" tire, it will still provide the same amount of pressure pre square inch of tire.. Ur car is not running low profile tire, so the side walls tend to be tall and softer than low profile tires which are hard and short.. So eventhough when u dont have enough tire pressure a taller sidewall tire will look more kempis eventhough the the diameter of the tire is exactly same.

Added on December 14, 2011, 12:49 am
Please poke  xandras A$$ for me .. hehe.. I will sponsor u the condoms..  biggrin.gif
*
33PSI in front for 16 inch tyres for a FF car is quite low la. U have to consider the fact that ur front tyres are doing the steering and pulling the car, as well as supporting the entire weight of the engine. For a FR car the setup is rather different; the rear pressure should be higher than the front by a few PSIs. It also varies according to personal preference; whether it's comfort, handling, road noise, etc.

Although I do agree with u that the 'flatness' of the front tyres shouldn't be an indicator of low tyre pressure.

If u ask me, strictly between those two u mentioned, then turtle wax is better... But if u can afford it, go get it waxed using meguiars or AutoGlymm products.. Soft99 is more like a Multi-purpose cleaner wax..doh.gif
