Hmm, I noticed suddenly today more apps are available in the market. Guess they're slowly but surely loosening the waterpipes for app availability.

Though Xbox Live is still an issue. Too many decent games are tied to XBL, and while I can always play my games on my Android, Nokia needs to smack Microsoft to work faster to make them available if they seriously want to convert Android Army/iFans.
*
This is because the apps had to be resubmitted and recertified for Malaysia marketplace. Damn content laws. As for XBL... I guess for MS the problem is... what happens if they just flip the switch to allow Malaysia to have XBL but NOT support Xbox 360 here.

Well, I'm an RHB use. Haven't had any problems receiving OTP codes. You could just be unlucky I guess.

Added on February 17, 2012, 10:07 pmBTW, Malaysia is now enabled on Windowsphone.com

go back to the whatsapp page on marketplace, if there's an update you'll see the share button replaced with update

Can I just continue using my old Xbox live ID which is Singapore region I believe and use my Malaysian CC to buy apps on Singapore region?
*
If you can setup your CC to buy points for your XBL, you're set.

The local office must have someone who knows very well the ins and outs and how to use the various scenarios.

Being in Malaysia where we don't have access to scout or vision by default limits our scenario to mainly the picture sharing ones.

Wow...that is probably too good. Even I turn on EDGE & Wifi, it will probably last for 24 hours only (Standby 80% of the time)
My OS version is 7.10.8107.79 and I have install all the latest update. The only application running with background task turned on is "Amazing Weather".

May I know what apps you have that are using push and also your full charge capacity? I have 4 email accounts setup and the settings for "Download new content" is set to "as item arrive"....not sure if that is part of the reason also?
*
PJ,

simple rule of thumb regarding phone power, power is consumed whenever there's transmission. When your radio is just on and sitting idle it doesn't take up extra current

Since you asked it to donwload new content as it arrives, what type of server are you connected to? If it requires constant polling instead of a lazy connection, that would mean it takes up more power.

Guys, a quick question here .. it seems like Malaysia is not listed inside the available countries when I wish to register for the Zune account.
Any idea how to resolve on this issue ? unsure.gif
*
Zune as in the MUSIC SERVICE, or you just need to make an account for your phone? If it's for your phone make it through the phone. If it's for the music service, Zune pass is unavailable in Malaysia.

So just change to Lumia 800 after 1 and half month using HTC Radar,

So here is what i think,
HTC Radar screen is much better - white is white, not yellowish.
HTC Radar screen is bigger, and very apparent when playing ilomilo compared to Lumia 800
HTC Radar loudspeaker is much better, crystal clear, stereo and surround
HTC Radar has internet sharing and out of the box DLNA support
HTC Radar has front camera
HTC Radar GPS is much faster
HTC Radar has much more camera setting, burst mode, panorama, Sharpness
HTC Radar pictures are much clearer
HTC Radar camera are much better even in the dark
HTC Radar flash is very intense!
Lumia 800 has Nokia Drive
Lumia 800 has Nokia Radio
Lumia 800 has 16gb memory
Lumia 800 has 1.4gz cpu, not significant though

I hate to say this, but i think Lumia 800 is overprice and HTC Radar is better, if HTC Radar is 16gb, and come out of the box GPS software. it will be perfect!
*
One question, can you check your focus mode for the Lumia, see if it's on Macro or not? I don't have any fresh devices to test but I have this nagging suspicion its set to Macro by default.

I also have both devices (Lumia for my wife)

I don't really see much difference about the color issue, but then again those things don't bother me unless he color is off by a lot. Physical screen size is a personal preference, some like it big some like it small.

Internet sharing is why I gave my wife the Lumia and I kept the Radar tongue.gif

I guess I should go through a proper comparison process and see how the 2 stack up.

You were right the camera is set to macro by default. Could this be the reason?
And one more thing missing! No face detection in Lumia. But you will only notice all of this if you made a phone transition , if Lumia is your first phone. You won't notice this. i think they should add face detection since we news to flip the phone to snap our own face :-P
*
It's possible, BTW if you didn't already know, once you have setup your shot settings ie. Changed focus mode to normal. You can use the top option of "Save settings" to save the current settings to be used as default so you don't have to change it all the time.

As for face detection, I never thought of it as a self camera aid tool. Just goes to show everyone has different set of needs wink.gif

I think I has found the problem with the Nokia Lumia camera, the problem is most evident during video recording. Check out this thread.

I got the same error using Maybank debit card. Deduct RM5 each try summore. Is there any workaround? My debit card is online capable, has been using quite heavily on ebay and hobby store.

P/S: how long will the pre-activation charge will be returned back to me? I've been charge too many times due to too many tries lol.
*
Don't worry too much about the checking charge, I think the reversal is quite immediate, just that the alert system is set to inform you about money being charged, but not put back in.

Nokia Drive 2.0 is out now in the marketplace! smile.gif hope the offline navigation works well tongue.gif

Added on March 21, 2012, 9:18 amNokia drive offline not really working for me sad.gif.....it will search my destination and map out the route fine but when I start navigation it will just stay at 'Looking for gps'

Although when it does have a GPS signal it will be several hundred meters to a kilometer off my actual location...this goes the same for Nokia maps sad.gif
*
It sounds like your EXACT location isn't being returned, so your location is being retrieved through the cell tower or wifi triangulation instead of the actual GPS signals. Try again later.

I tried it while in the car and while on foot...both same results...'looking for gps'

location services are on....i even tried restarting the phone but it didn't help....
*
Note that GPS isn't MAGIC, when it comes out of a cold start (didn't use for a long time) it needs to get more triangulation data to get a lock which means
- a clear view of the sky (you'd be surprised at how our rain clouds can affect it)
- DON'T MOVE! If you're moving very fast you'll keep reseting it's attempt to triangulate, so try and keep still while that happens

Try to use an SG post code.. or use another card. Also, you might want to call your bank and ask if they're blocking internet transactions.
