Just slightly remove the top part of the screen protector from the phone and try make a call. See if the proximity sensor works. If still no luck could be hardware problem. |

You sure it's caused by firmware? Before updated got the same issue? Try downgrade back if you have shsh and see if it's still the same. If yes, probably it's hardware issue.
