Nope she ain't pregnant coz i dun allow her to be pregnant... i have my hands full...i'm out of baby roaches to feed them.
First is a juvie Hottentotta caboverdensis, den followed by Hottentotta tamulus sindicus and then its Hottentotta trilineatus. Parabuthus transvaalicus adult male and a baby Parabuthus villosus...supposedly male Parabuthus pallidus and Pandinus gregoryi and militaris, hopefully would arrive safely Ok edit in some photos... Compare the Leiurus quinquestriatus hebreus and the one below...the one below is from Egypt and is named...Leiurus quinquestriatus quinquestriatus instead. Difference ? See the facial markings. hebreus dun have the tribal face mask and is less on the body markings too. There are two color morph of hebreus...the one shown in the previous page is a yellow morph and theres another orangy morph of hebreus...also lacks tribal markings on the face...too bad mine was not pregnant or else i would have some of tat too This post has been edited by Balthasar: Oct 18 2007, 01:19 AM Attached thumbnail(s) |

As long as ur butt dun itch to handle it with ur hands, u wont have much of a problem la. If ur butt itch for fame, glory and praise from others tat u r capable of handling them, den u can order ur Kotak first la. Just put it in a tightly secure container...and feed when u need to...and keep ur hands out of the way...u'd be kicking for a longer time. Brave people tend to die fast u know |

^^" I recommend you to use proper equipment to handle if you're new. Trust me, you don't wanna get stung. It HURTS. When more experienced and daring (provided the scorpian isn't deadly) then can use hand.

i got hold my scoprion without getting sting so far la, sicne my scorp is jus AFS.
if i got other than the AFS i will jus look only, not dare to hold them. but then u cant simply hold them or wat, even for a pincer used scop like AFS OR AES, need to be slowly, so that is ok to pick them up rather than provoke them. but then some times depends on the character of the scops la, diff scorp diff character. aaarrrgghhh!!!!...another one of my afs died during moulting...this time only one more leg to take out, then stopped...what could be wrong?...i tried to assist by pulling the leg free and the scorp did survive for a night...but the next morning it's dead...substrate was decently moistured, container was put in a dark room (so that no disturbance during moulting)...i mean environment wise, i did everything i knew to ensure success moulting...could it be the other scorps were the reason my afs didn't survive the process?...i put my 4 afs in a big exoterra container...

QUOTE(leng2 @ Dec 10 2007, 09:08 PM) AFS-Asian Forest Scorpion, it is found all over malaysia especially in undeveloped areasmoulting-moulting is a process whereby the insect or invertebrate sheds its skin in order to grow bigger, as the lack the vertebrae or backbone. unlike us humans, and ALL mammals, we have vertebrae to support us while growing. So this is basically the reason why insects moult. Added on December 24, 2007, 5:23 pm QUOTE(sharil_routh @ Dec 10 2007, 09:19 PM) we can keep it in the same condition as we rear tarantulas but they basically need a wider base as they are not arboreal (tree dwelling) but rather terrestrial. they can be kept communally unlike tarantulas.speaking of scorpions being dangerous, a good rule of thumb is - the smaller the pincers of a scorpion, the more potent its venom. the larger the pincers os a scorpion, the less potent its venom. Some scorpions can kill you with a single sting. one good example is the fat tailed scorpion. the less dangerous ones are basically the asian forest scorpion and emperor scorpion but neverthelss, it is always best not to handle your scorpion. Scorpions are most vulnerable during moulting. This period is notorious for having the highest mortality rate in these inverts. Some of the reasons for death during/right after moulting are:1. Humidity. Reasonably high humidity helps moulting, too much humidity and the scorpion may end up losing it's limbs. 2. Cannibalism by other members in sharing the same tank. 3. Parasites(mites) and infections may also be the cause for worry. 4. Rogue food items such as live crickets or mealworms may also play a role in the death of scorpions during moulting. A clean enclosure with relatively high humidity should help in moulting without much hassle. |

I put both of my afs into the same tank.. 1 male 1 female. The male ate the female. Oh well..
Anyway, I'm going to get some yellow scorpions from Thailand. Don't know what species it is tho. Will post some picture when I get it. |
