Well, I think I will just buy a new set, then this damage set I will use as guinea pig for that LED project. laugh.gif

If you want ideas on how to DIY your LED lights, join 4G1 Series forum on Facebook, there got one member did LED lights for his rear lights, quite nice but pricey.

This is a common problem for the earlier batch of LMST cars. My recommendation is to change both your rear lights to the newer 2007 LMST model lights. Confirm the lights won't have water leaking in anymore. Owner of both 2004 & 2007 LMST here. The grey rear lights will always have water masuk, no matter if you change to new one.

My LMST 2004 one.. grey backlights no water masuk wor... brows.gif

the brake noise is very VERY pleasant lol. not sure if its due to the rotor design? its a very low "turbine" like sound, like a very quiet engine/mechanical running sound lol. my engine, or even ICE is much louder than that, and its only very audible when i do hard brakes especially at speeds from 150km/h all the way down to 60-70km/h then the sound is very faint already.

as for the mileage, add 230k++ km to it. i replaced the meter with new original proton meter (expensive as f***, around/over rm200). it is a 12+ years car after all lol

as posted on the track discussion thread:
QUOTE
god damn the brake pads are so godlike rofl.
the bites are so precise... and even after brake fade during yesterday's bedding in, in around a minute it f***ing recovers
though it isnt so great at the end of the day cuz the rear drum brake is still pretty f***ing dead ROFL!

anyways a rough calculation (or even minor documenting) on the spending thus far (in rough/rounded figures):
- exhaust: 800 (high 700's)

- LCP 500

- absorbers/mountings & o-ring/aircon tensioner bearings/rstop pads: 1100+

- semi-slick tires + rotors + workmanship (rotor/brake fluid flush/drum cleaning and adjusting) + steel rims: 1600

- misc. track: helmet and entry = 200

pending:
OCI + gearbox OCI + RCL/octane booster + gearbox gasket/oil filter change estimated between 400-600 (ill take 600 top figure)

total so far including pending = 4.8k.
called bank and will be arranging on a transaction's flexi payment. 3% up front interest (im re-financing the absorber charges of 1.1k, so im feeding bank about rm30-40ish /sigh)

Yah, the design is definately more modern. However, there's a lot of things to be considered.
1) Air cond ventilation connection points
2) Length & width of the BLM dashboard against LMST
3) Can the two front doors close properly against the BLM dashboards?
4) Will it affect the firewall / soundproofing effect?
5) Will your meters & buttons be compatible?
5) Costs involved

If you want a double din player, just get those DVD 1-Din units that can retract the screen in and out.
Would cost you RM2k - RM3k for a good branded unit, and you can transfer it no problem next time to other cars.
Looks wise, if you wipe & maintain your dashboard every month with a nice dashboard / leather / vinyl protector, your dashboard will look new and berkilat all the time. I do this and I'm satisfied with the dashboard dy.
Now just waiting to upgrade my ICE + headunit to better ones.

You can also check out Codyx's ride. He did some nice updates to his LMST dashboard which makes it very cool.

those would be power steering belt, alternator belt and aircond belt. 3 belts all together should cost less than RM30 for good one. i bought the belts, bring to nearby shell station for engine oil change asked mechanic to change charged rm10 for the labor. smile.gif

I'm quite satisfied already about my LMST dashboard but it just becoz of the air-cond button down there that taking so much space. Its ok la then. I think its better for me to modi the existing dashboard rather than buy BLM dashboard. Thanks for the advise bro.
Codyx's? A member here in LYN? He got post his LMST photos or not? (interested already drool.gif )
