Really?

Oh well, NPS don't get those kinda discounts? Or there are many different levels of NPS after all...
*
you get NPS membership from getting DX00 and above camera and with a few gold ring lenses if i am not mistaken.
being an NPS member, you get err special service or privileges like equipment service turn around time is faster. get a camera or lens replacement when you sent in yours for service, etc etc.

NPS is not a big thing actually. i dont know about different levels though. i think it's more like who you know. you guys know Futuromic is nikon's biggest distributor in malaysia right? nikon malaysia distribute to klang valley. dan lain lain all belongs to futuromic.

but nikon's marketing strategy do not involve in offering pro or cronies or trying to convert nonac pro to nikon by giving them dirty cheap price on nikon equipments. seriously. unless there is some news that i do not know of. hahaa

so easy to get NPS membership in Msia? blink.gif
In SG, you have to be a professional photographer (full time) and need to show your valid portfolio then only eligible for the membership.
*
are you serious at the showing your valid portfolio thingy?

not sure about msia, but this is definitely not true in sg.
my friend is a NPS member, he told me he can get 20% discount directly from nikon.
*
20% discount off street price or RRP?
seeing that it's directly from nikon, i guess it's the RRP...
means not much of a discount.

Not sure.
He told me he can get the 70200f2.8 vr2 at around s$2.6k. RRP is around s$3.5k
Sounds good to me.

You should not compare this way.
Sg nikon lens price is higher than msia, e.g nikon fisheye 16mm is around sgd1.2k  while penang shops quote me sgd1050.
The street price for the 70200 is around sgd3.2k.(from reputable shops)

QUOTE(smokey @ Dec 29 2011, 10:41 AM)
guys, ytd i went to nikon pkns to have my d7k sensor cleaned...
1st time - still got 1 black dot in picture, so i asked them to reclean
2nd time - ok clean liao, but got 1 tiny hair in the viewfinder, so i asked them to remove it as there is none before i come
3rd time - the tiny hair is still there, and now the LCD flickers when reviewing picture!!!

now masuk kilang liao!!!

at first i asked y the LCD flickers, then the technician said its normal...swt...he said its like tv...then i told him this is not CRT wor...

then ok lo, the receptionist say need masuk kilang...but still ask me for rm20 cleaning charge...then i said, clean until spoiled, still need to pay ar??

so in the end, no need pay...but now i have no camera to use...do simple cleaning also can spoil my cam...haih
*
sensor cleaning is a relatively easy job to do. perhaps all the qualified technicians were on holiday now and the job was given to someone who hasn't done it before.

but a supposedly qualified nikon technician come and tell me that it's normal for my LCD to flicker hor, i will blardy slap him. well, it depends. live view in fluorescent lite area, it does flicker. viewing photos and it flicker, i will demand a chat with the top people...

so sorry to hear about your situation anyway

i plan to get a girlfriend but i got 24-70  sweat.gif

nah joking.
----------

anyway here is another shot that i got flare....

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

straight come from DSLR, no edit. and ya bear with my noob shot. and the range is not enough far haha...
sweat.gif

there also where and when my friend test my lens and straight point this problem to me last sunday. even his F-pro dont have this.
*
the 2nd photograph is normal. if you had a light source against dark background, you will get reflection like this no matter how good is your filter. using good filters will minimise it but it will not eliminate it.

however, i am not so sure what happened to the photo of the direct sun problem seems to be. maybe there are smudges on your filter or lens? check it

no. suppose is new.  all shot with filter.
about the sun shot, i never touch my filter because with the hood on, it is impossible will accidently touch it ...

and ya about the night shot, my friend use D90 stand there shoot around/ almost same angle like that, he demo to me with his 2nd hand tamtron 18-50mm f/2.8 + F-pro, no flare at all. then when he swap my lens, straight got flare with filter. shocking.gif

that's why i keep scratching my head... no way XS-pro can perform worst than F-pro.
anyway already contact to yannick and show to him this problem see the new replacement will have this problem or not.
*
notice the position of the light in the 2nd photo? did you friend's photo with the tamron had the same position of light?
