The nano is already in Msia market, seen them before. But price is kinda    for that shop.

My XS-Pro (non-nano) got it at RM250, but that's special price cause Hoya HD ran out of stock back then LOL. Where did you buy yours from?
And his price is RM280?

just asking on you guys opinions la, I've had my hands on d3100 kit loaned by my friend for a day or so and ever since dslr bug starts biting. hard.

so, been searching up and downs the internet over the nikons that worth while considering includes d3100, d5000, d40, and d80.

I like d3100 but, somehow it just doesnt cut it for me. It seemed, limited. I want to do more. Tho, perhaps on the 2 day it was on loaned, I might have used maybe 70% of its full potential.

D5000 looks good on spec sheet compared to d3100. Truth be told that d3100, d5000 and d40 cant AF with lenses without motor. That sucks. I like to have a descent lenses that is able to AF (Im noob ma, cant simply manual focus one... ), besides, they are cheaper I presume?

so it  goes down to d80, spec sheet is better tho it is only 10megapix. But, hey, Im not gonna print an image of size A2 from it! Im just suka-suka photography only. What's nice is, it has focus motor in it. Yes! So, i could buy cheapo 50 1/8 lens and still can AF. Yeeha!

my question is, d80 is no longer brand new available in the market. Cuz they are already 2 years old (?). Hence the option goes to the used market. I am wondering tho, d90 is much better than d80 but the price is way off my budget. Am I doing the right choice of getting d80 at this time of the year?

Too sayang for a very expensive RM 4k+ lens that has just been bought. If can spend 4k, why not another rm200 to make the collection complete?

Just like those times when a new iPad/iPhone was bought then you straight away get screen protector/phone casing and wrap it nicely to prevent scratches....lol

I care for my lens, therefore I use filter ;-)

PS, Hoya HD saved my 85mm before. Without that it would probably retired already by now.

Quality wise as always depends on the price.

You pay peanuts you get peanuts. Depends on your requirement.

rm350 can get a good filter liao 
but what you said is true also... i thinking wan get in malaysia or not. but the 5.7k was heard from my colleague one, i duno where to find 5.7k of 24-70 ><
if i let my uncle choose for me, i just tell him the base price and let him nego till that haha. he got friend know gadget stuff but not sure include nikon SLR  or not

Correct. Radio trigger with TTL/Manual capability and also supports high speed sync.
No proper case for it my baobei PW hahaha! If my Strato I just put it inside the side pockets kaotim

again correct me if im wrong. PW got ttl features, which enables u to set ur flash in auto instead of manual. plus it can manage the high speed sync as well.

i just get my d7000. b4 dis i use d70.
problem is how i wanna use fokus point manually witout switch autofocus to manual focus.make me headache..

My Phottix Strato does not have high speed sync. Anything above 1/250s it won't be able to do it already.

So that's why the Pocket Wiz system so pricey, but it is proven and reliable. So far I've tested its good. And I like the way you are able to adjust the power/compensation via the AC3.

Only complain now is, unable to control flash zoom head LOL! (I'm such a lazy bump hahaha!)

If the D800 price goes up, say RM10~RM12k, D700 price eventually will go up due to demand > supply when it is discontinued. Better grab one now

I see you have a few DX lens, if you go D700 only the 24-70 would be useful. When you go D700, you need to refresh your lens line up.

What are you using the camera for?

I would definitely recommend the D7000 over the D300s. You've a nice budget there! D7000+MB-D11+SB900(or SB910?)+17-55 if I had 8k to spend on a new DX system.

Ask yourself, do you need the telephoto range from 70200? If yes, then 70200. If not, D700.

how about the older 80-200 two-touch? that doesn't have VR though but it's cheaper and that'll allow you to save up just a little bit more to get a D700

its always better to get glass first, but in d700 case i think get body first. its freaking hard to find d700 brand new in stock right now.it took me so long i almost gave up finding one in stock (tq fotokem!  )
however, i think nikon wont drop d700 from production anytime soon, they will continue produce d700/d800 since both bodies cater to different target market (700 for photo/800 for video) and 70200, u can buy anytime cos its a new lens.
and since u got 2470 already, can just use the 2470 as ur daily lens. 2470 more then enuff to cover all sorts of events
