Mine too, but everything is ok after i reflash the KP7, install recovery 1.2 and cr8

Well I say it's not 100% where you can succeed in every flash but you will not brick your phone if you flash correctly. (Unless you flash other ROMs which are made for other phones then your phone is dead blink.gif )

In CR* there is a app call IncrediControl, do you know how to use it blink.gif And for No-frills CPU control, what is ondemand mean hmm.gif what is the setting i should put for Governor and I/O. Thanks for helping cause i am newbie  rclxm9.gif
*
IncrediControl is to control your phone's voltage (or so I guess blink.gif ). Well, I use ondemand and vr for them though (default) since I'm not too clear about them as well. Here's a link for you to study about governor and I/O. rclxms.gif

QUOTE(ian_9 @ Jan 17 2012, 03:02 PM)
My phone sometimes gets hot during usage (and charging) o.o my area got bad signal though. and my room got horrible wifi signal lol. Is this normal?
*
Usually is like this or after you install the RC8 and you get this problem? Mine is all good like before though. Certain rooms have bad wifi signal and service signal (digi/maxis/celcom and etc) due to the infrastructure of your house and as expected that phone wifi signal is not as strong as what we have on laptops or pc. If your signal is still weak after you step out of your house, that's a problem then hmm.gif

QUOTE(MakaiKnight @ Jan 17 2012, 04:10 PM)
Hi Guys, Need some help and clarification here.

Anybody using maxis ? Its seems that my phone keep flip flopping between HSPDA and UTMS (3g and H). Wondering if its the phone (radio on stock rom) or its maxis problem.

Another problem is the screen is shaking, i mean picture....err....i mean the display. Very minimum shake but still notice it. Easily notice at the bottom left corner. Its not happening often...but when it happen, after restart the phone, its back to normal. Oh....easily notice when use google map, as the map is all lines and box...so when display shaking, its very noticeable. Anybody experiencing this ? should i send for warranty ? (i have to unroot first before sending in right ?)

Any Apps that can detect how much data a particular apps in the phone use ? I mean a particular apps....i already have 3g watchdog, but its doesn't break down on what apps is using how much. I'm averaging 17mb per day. If keep using maxis....by the third week, the quota will be reached like this. No...i don't browse youtube. I just occasionally open facebook. and i use to sync email from yahoo, gmail and my office email only
*
Yes there is. As I know certain programs are still running on the background even you didn't open the particular app (eg. google maps, line, whatsapp and etc). You may try "Network TrafficStats Lite" or "AppTraffic Free" which are free from the android market. I'll recommend "AppTraffic Free" personally as I think it's a better choice though but do give both of them a try. icon_rolleyes.gif Hope this helps! biggrin.gif

Usually it gets hot since I bought it. Yeah my place got bad signal. My old phone also. sad.gif normal for it to get hot?
*
it will if you're running too many app and if u're on long phone calls. if standby still hot then i think there's a problem. how about after flashing to rc8? still hot?

It doesn't get hot while in standby. RC8 still the same as stock rom. Gets hot after playing games a bit and like browsing for a while. Not super hot la but can feel.
*
Oh, if playing games of course will get warm. If warm then it's fine. I thought it's like "hot" biggrin.gif No problem man, mine also like this when I play games tongue.gif

QUOTE(MakaiKnight @ Jan 17 2012, 04:46 PM)
thanks mccy, any idea about the display and the flipflop ?
*
"The switching from 3G to H is not the problem and not the cause of the problem here - it's just the symptom.

It's because data is lagging and stalling further upstream, so the phone is simply returning to idle as it should.

The solution is to change carriers to something that gives more reliable data." - Source - XDA-Developers Forum

If you have no problem on surfing the net then I personally think it's okay though. It seems like i9000 (Samsung Galaxy S) is having the same problem.

For display, I really don't have any idea what's causing it sweat.gif Sry for that sad.gif

Done with Cranium 8. So after this I can just update it with odin and not worry about data wipes?

Something I did wrong somewhere resulted in me wiping off everything in my internal SD. Haha.
*
blink.gif That's bad. >< Yup, well, usually there won't be a data wipe for the files in your internal sd card though. Just make sure you made a backup with Titanium Backup and it'll be alright smile.gif

You mean everyone from Malaysia must flash back to Asian stock rom before sending back for warranty is it? because I bought mine from the official Samsung place but don't have those Chinese apps when I bouht it lol
*
Well yeah. As long as you bought at Malaysia, you'll have to do that lolz. I suggest if you wanna send back for warranty, flash back to DXKJ2 since that's the latest update available via Kies.

*Edit* Going to try pikachu01's tweak.

*Update* sweat.gif and so I failed. have to flash RC8 again sweat.gif

Yup..just thinking what if i just back up my data using kies.is it enuf already or nandroid backup is a must?
*
Well, I think it's sufficient as you can always download stock rom online though. but then I still suggest you to make a nandroid backup and save it inside your internal sd card though in case anything happens.

Is it normal for my hp to shut down unexpectedly? And when I try to turn them on, the screen still show nothing. Waited for about 5 minutes then the hp goes back to normal.

I checked with the shop I bought from and he said this is due to my ram being full. He said this is pretty normal for S+ and SII. He suggested me to switch off my hp every 3-4 days to clear the memory.

Is this normal? Kindly advise. Thanks.
*
It's not normal for me though. I didn't had such problem since I bought this phone on last year November. hmm.gif

The shop seller helped installed an app named "Task Killer" to help clear my ram.
*
Well that certainly helps though. The most basic way is to press the home button for some time, then press task manager -> ram -> clear memory. It's good to do it when you feel your phone is some what lagging.

Just bought this hp three days ago and issues started popping out. Previously, the hp is working fine. He said if problem still persists, he will sent my hp for warranty and have my hp software upgraded.
*
Well yeah since that really isn't a healthy sign for the phone. If the problem still occurs then it's best to send it back for warranty check up. or you might want to upgrade your firmware using Samsung Kies.

owh ic...my phone do restart after finished flash to rc8...but ir boot until "samsung galaxy s plus gt i9001" welcome screen only and after a while, it shutdown itself...try to restart, also same. hmm.gif came across to Cranium website and saw CR8 for Odin.tonight will try it.
*
Well, for my case, you just have to reflash the whole thing though. go into recovery mode, choose install zip from sd card -> install zip from internal sd card -> RC8 then it'll delete the old system and reinstall. Well, the Odin version also works fine. I think at some part you do it wrongly or something sweat.gif

Welcome to the S+ community I say thumbup.gif Well, it's up to you though. Certain app needs your phone to be rooted to be able to use but if you don't need em, I don't think there's a need for you to root your phone then smile.gif
