That one is normal also. That one is to scan the changes (added files and etc) occur in your internal/external sd card.

Yeah! You got that right. Samsung is getting more and more like Apple Even Sony Ericsson single core phones are getting their ICS but we're not. Luckily we still have XDA though. That's a relieve

For the 14 icons of status bar, apparently the Cranium RC8 isn't working. So you'll have to install it manually. The link of it is here.
Yes, you can pair any Cranium kernel with any Cranium ROM.
As I know, not that sure though, firmware = ROM. So yes, basically if you flash a new ROM, your firmware is also changed.
FeaMod Recovery is basically for recovery. OC ability doesn't depends on FeaMod but it's depending on the kernel itself.

This means that your phone is semi brick. Have you tried to get into recovery mode (volume up + power button until samsung logo appears for 2-3 sec and release)? If not, I'm afraid u'll need a USB jig to force it into recovery. I think someone from lowyat here sells it for RM30. That's the fastest way though or u can go and claim warranty. I saw broodROM's dev and a few members saying that that flashing ROM via Kies is dangerous.

I think this is because of lag issue. Have you check your ram usage?
