QUOTE(1GTR1 @ Mar 24 2012, 06:27 PM) Guys, you know what, my HD channels problem are all fixed! No more problem of HD channels disappearing often, it's really stable now. Some of you had recommended me to change the cable to RG6, well I didn't change it. I did intend to change it, but when I called to my friend's friend to come take a look (this time wanna try someone who is not from Astro), someone who knows how to handle Astro problems, they said it must be something loose from the dish. I told u in post 985,based on personal experience, the job was NOT done properly ! Well we are happy its settled. I told them this time just change the cable to RG6, they said well let's check the dish first before changing the cable and then ok, I let them adjust the dish. While adjusting it, the people on the roof said "wow why everything here so loose, what kind of people do this kind of job??". This really surprised me because I thought the second guy that Astro sent to fix it many days ago had already tightened it, like I had told you guys over here many days ago. But now I know it's again a loosely done job by the second guy. So after everything was settled, all HD channels are really stable now. The friend who fixed it even stay for quite long time to check whether the problem still recurring or not. It's really really stable now. So I can make one conclusion, the first two guys the came to install and fix my Astro B.yond, are utterly useless and can go to F OFF. Do this kind of shitty service, might as well don't do it. Suppose to help people, but actually bring more problems. |

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Mar 26 2012, 10:17 AM) http://www.currentlife2u.com/2012/03/25/pe...a-dengan-astro/ exactly.......astro will to do anything as long it is profitable to them, they dont care of others. I agree. Astro 1st is a waste for film industry & and also Astro bandwidth. Might as use Astro First HD1, HD2, HD3 bandwidth to improve HD channel bitrate. |

Thanks for the memories James, i was in early 20's at that time at that time sports was multi racial, the sporting spirit was there ,the govt shld know by now things are different when we are united and multi racial, now its money, house ,datukship.....our sports never improved after that!Aru,MD,SS and Soh were perfect combination.........unsung heroes!
About astro's new sports pricing, maybe the floodgates are being opened maybe in times to come, more matches wl be on and we may hv to purchase extra passes above the sports pack,no more if you are sports subscriber u get to watch all live! Pay-TV companies are always at the mercy of content providers. So costs are rising faster than revenue,” said an analyst with an investment bank in Kuala Lumpur. “On top of that there is more competition now with other providers and IPTV is increasingly becoming the norm around the world. Satellite TV is dying,” he added. — Reuters

QUOTE(jamesleetech @ Mar 29 2012, 11:42 PM) Hehe... normal behaviour for me but not everyone have the same opinion. If DirecTV is available and installed in your home, can I cum to your house ? Ooops... correction... can I come to your house ? That was a joke Well , who said satelite tv is dying is not the issue but infact it is,Astro wl incur more costs end of the day.IPTV has variety ,a good internet connection and the world is yours. All astro cld do was go nationwide besides that what did it achieve, rain fade phased it out.If no monopoly astro wld hv died long ago, just with competetitors about to start and astro has felt the heat. The main idea to go into satelite is to lease transponders ,here is where their money is! |

ku band was tragedy, the idea to go for ku band was maybe mainly its easy to spot the dishes up there ,to stop us from using dishes alike to get FTA,secondly the satelite launch was targetted to serve other countries for leasing business.Measat is almost fully leased to india with no more space for own use!We are the idiots now watching compressed and not so HD channels

QUOTE(skylinelover @ Mar 30 2012, 11:06 AM) hahaha that is y i going 2 cancel astro soon n switch unifi once the dam thing available in my area This is the reply i got today ,Dear Mr. , Thank you for contacting TM UniFi. Referring to your e-mail dated 29th March 2012 on UniFi availability and upon checking system, we regret to inform that your address as per previous e-mail is currently not under UniFi coverage area at this moment. However, we are adding FDCs (Fibre Drop Cabinets) as fast as we can. We are deploying new areas all the time. Some sections of a city may get service before others. It’s all dependent on how fast we can dig and lay cable in a given neighborhood, and get the required hardware in place. We are currently unable to give better estimation time. Maybe FDC may help to serve all towns and maybe areas within 5km radius This post has been edited by smileguy: Mar 30 2012, 11:49 AM |

QUOTE(jamesleetech @ Apr 1 2012, 09:49 PM) My Off-Topic Post Happy april fool's day james !!!That was something new and something nice for all,You may agree with me that Malaysia has lost so many things including AFD.........our children dont talk about it,blame it on our govt.policies. A celebration that falls on a special day, This year which happens on a Sunday. Depends on who got caught anyway. Don't take it so seriously one might say, Always think carefully before you play. Laughter or hurt depends on what you play, Especially when first of April is also a person's birthday. Don't overdo it... is what one should daresay. If hurting a friend's feelings is okay, That special friendship may unfortunately decay. For fun and laughter... simple tricks are okay, So "life and death" tricks are not the correct way. Just use simple fun tricks that everyone shouts hooray! Because that special celebration is April Fool's Day ! I wrote the above short composition myself for April Fool's Day. Hope folks here like it. And I am sure many got "fooled". Its just for fun and laughter which we sometimes need in our everyday life. Just remember not to use nasty tricks that can possibly hurt your friend's feelings. Luckily I escaped a few times today and did not become a fool. I will never so easily believe anyone on this day, hehe. I always pity my friend whose birthday is on 1st April so I will never play any trick on him. If I posted here on 31-03-2012 that Astro will launch SyFy HD Channel 439 on 01-04-2012, will anyone believe me IF true ? Hope folks here don't mind my off- topic post. |

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Apr 5 2012, 05:20 PM) Exactly. Which is why I think they'll fail. Thats right.......the next issue is the loans, with so little coverage ,they are serious abt the dateline to take off ,I am afraid even after a year or two ABN may be another Unifi! Coming, coming still coming!!! It's impossible to have nationwide takeoff if using fiber, unless you have one or two dozen contractors per district and willing to pump out ultra huge capital, and you keep constant pressure on the contractors to make sure they roll out fast and within days of signing up. 15 contractors only is a joke. No way 15 contractors can cover whole of Malaysia let alone Klang Valley. |

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Apr 6 2012, 01:15 AM) Stupid thng is, MEASAT 1 and 2 is still up there. Just that both has been apparently given, rented or sold off to South Africa and renamed Africasat 1 and 2 Well we almost sold everything including tanjung pagar !!! WTF gomen! That was suposed to be a national heritage! It even has a few groundbreaking features and world firsts! If MEASAT had just kept both, we'd have more bandwidth! But no! they apparently wrote the two off so Assteruk can play the "not enough bandwidth" card! * Sos cili that Measat 1 & 2 renamed and moved to Africa: http://space.skyrocket.de/doc_sdat/measat-1.htm Added on April 6, 2012, 6:28 amJames whats your opinion, they say they wont dig to put cables but use TNB poles instead,do u think this wl contribute to more fast coverage and access? QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Apr 11 2012, 03:46 PM) They'll need to target whole of Klang Valley and Straits settlement plus other major cities and outskirts in two years if they want to be successful. Sounds like history is repeating itself. They still haven't figure out why assteruk is so popular (hint: Almost full coverage of Malaysia upon launch). Read this ,its 500,000 targeted first year !!! |
