QUOTE(steve1703 @ Jan 3 2013, 02:35 PM) brands pretty much all same, coz same pump. lol. depends what you need really, small case: 35x, 355. larger case, anything including the 655. haha!QUOTE(Dennos @ Jan 3 2013, 04:02 PM) don't think that's actually possible unless you use weird chems in your loop. |

QUOTE(steve1703 @ Jan 3 2013, 04:53 PM) depends on how restrictive your loop is. If too much components, radiator, waterblocks etc you need powerful pump in order to pump at least 1GPM for optimal cooling performance. More than 1GPM doesn't have any effect to the temps already, just extra flow rate.pump power goes like this: pmp500 > mcp35X > mcp355 > mcp655. Brands doesnt matter because they come from the same OEM, e.g mcp655 is aka Liang D5 & mcp355 is aka DDC. Just get the 1 that offers the longest warranty. For your setup seems like D5 is more than enough but its up to you. D5 is quiet & runs cooler where as DDC runs at a higher temps & makes a bit more noise. Noise is subjective, some are ok with it. Another factor to consider is DDC size is pretty small where as the D5 is a bit big in case your casing doesnt have much room. Oh and D5 is rated to have ~5years lifespan (got legit claims from users as well), DDC not sure but many have claim that its lifespan is pretty good as well. I got Laing D5 from aquatuning , and it runs quiet and smooth, oh and yes, it looks like a plumbing part of a toilet.pump power goes like this: pmp500 > mcp35X > mcp355 > mcp655. i would go for DDC. Its small, could fit anywhere inside the case..even though its noisier than D5, but eventually when u turn on the PC , all fan starts running, i dont think i could even hear the pump.. the only problem for DDC pump is it has an ugly top and bad angle for w/c loops. when u replace the top, Warranty void when sealed is removed - especially Swiftech's.

QUOTE(steve1703 @ Jan 4 2013, 03:14 PM) DDC has higher head pressure where as d5 have higher flow rate. In layman terms DDC is stronger so it can handle many components than d5. My personal recommendation is to get mcp35x instead of mcp355. Because it comes with the best pump top preinstalled & g1/4 threads if I am not mistaken. No need to worry about warranty voiding. But I advice to get a heatsink + fan for it as its PCB can get up to 99 degrees yo! I myself is getting a pump & thinking either mcp35x or mcp655 pwm. But I might get the mcp655 pwm. |
