Icic, you meant something like air circulator right? I m treating my air purifier as air circulator as well circulate the air in my dinning room

my 2 year old boy had a rhinitism.. its an early symptom of athmatism... i bought sharp purifier, medklinn and medklinn for cars.. in total its over 1k. but its really worth every penny.. the rhinitism was very less compared to previous.. medklinn doesnt have hepa filter. so it can be turned on 24/7. sharp have hepa filter, so i only turn it on while i was at home. next year planning to upgrade to lombok from coway..

What parameter should I consider for air purifier? I notice there are various size and price. My main purpose is to eliminate dust and other features will be added advantage. I guess sizes of the purifier determine the area of location. What size to choose for living room and master bedroom. For sharp, I found price range frm rm450+ to rm2k..what actually the difference which I found expensive has more function button...

Based on my survey, there are 2 types of air purifier,

1)Purification without kill bacteria
For this kind of air purifier, it is functioning by filtering the dust particle in your air but do not kill any bacteria which may cause odor problem. This kind of purifier do provide some moisturizing effect to your environment so that your room will not too dry and causing you have dry skin problem. It is good for aircon room, I saw one Panasonic model last time offer, RM200 PWP with Panasonic aircon, tot to buy one but saw without bacteria killing function, so end up give up.

2)Purification by killing bacteria
For this kind of air purifier, anion will be produced to kill the bacteria, the killed bacteria will be turned to CO2 and expose to your environment. The sharp I am using is the lowest end model of air purifier under sharp in which it comes with bacteria killing features.

here's my studies on panasonic air purifier and sharp air purifier.

to summarize, there are 3 major points to look at it.

1) panasonic - nanoe genarator is lifetime
sharp - plasmacluster ion generator is 2 years lifetime
panasonic or sharp better?


2) panasonic - each nanoe contains +ion AND -ion to take immediate function
sharp - each plasmacluster ion contains +ion OR -ion. +ion and -ion must meet together in order to function as its famous advertisement term "Plasmacluster".

3) panasonic - suction from front and side. more efficient
sharp - suction from the rear. less efficient

I m using medklin at home and sharp in office.

Medklin free maintenance and have some forest smell. Can use it 24hr cause less power usage. While normal air purifier just on for few hr.

Maintenance free, is it wire mesh filter? Is it HEPA certified filter?

It don't have filter or moving parts. No air blow either. Medklin just generate million of ion out and sterilize surrounding room.

Oh, i know what you mean now. BTW, did you notice surrounding the medklin have lots of dust?

My 1 very old model. But medklin only have 1 model for household. Not difficult to choose.

I used the similar one for car air purifier (brandless), there is a zinc plate in which the ion will be generated over there, after some period, the zinc plate full of dust and need to periodically clean it, so ozak, urs having similar issue as well?

Not really notice. But any thing that generate ion will have some dust surrounding. It trap the dust and fall down.

1 thing good about this medklin is, when I shit in my room toilet, I can't smell my shit.

I can't really see what is inside. It have a pladtic cover with some hold. I only can see like a cylinder shape wire mesh and a purple light glow in it. some shhhh.. sound coming out too. It do have some dust after sometime.

Want to confirm is it really generate million of ion as it claim. Cause when it can generate that much of ion, it can quickly enough to cover any bad smell before you can smell.

I think inside will have lots of dust too, even the near by wall.

icic, so how much does it cost?

Maybe 1 day open up and check inside.

If have a lot of dust, it prove the thing if working good.

Hahahaha.... wah... so much info!!

I'm using Sharp at home and i notice that every couple of days the floor of my house will get dusty especially around the air purifier.... good thing that the air is getting cleaned... bad thing i have to sweep every alternate day.

The main thing to take into account for me is the circulation rate... no point getting such a changgih unit if it can't circulate the air in the area its placed fast enough.
