mainly just to remove dust in the bedroom. my condo near the highway so dust buildup quite fast. and i guess to remove any mould particles in the air (my AC is damn old - came with subsale condo) so dunno what nasty stuff in there even after clean. dont have any pets or any super sensitive allergy, mainly dust. if on the light sure got those dust particles floating everywhere....
if it works well maybe will get a few more in time. but dont know if i will turn on 24/7 yet. i guess if every room on 24/7 then worth it. if just 1 mesin. wont be too efficient... hmm.
I am not sure your model can be on 24/7, not all air purifiers can operate 24/7. To generate ion, it also need electricity which you might need concern about power consumption if turn on 24/7.
A little info about plasmacluster for you, actually the ion release will bind with the contaminants in the air and bring it down, it doesn't really destroy it. If the unit CADR is not good enough, the dust might be flying everywhere again if it's not drawn into the air purifier. Also it's recommended that when operating the air purifier, you should leave the room as ionizer can release certain amount of ozone while operating (but in low dosage compared to ozone generator type). It's best to put it away from electronic gadgets as it might interfere with those gadgets.

My room suffers the same condition as your unit. I bought a Sharp FPE50EW Air Purifier, after 2 weeks of leaving it on 24/7, now I don't see those tiny dust particles floating anywhere.

ya i using same one. so far i dont leave it on 24/7 though cause our windows always open haha. i use it only in the bedroom at night on it on high for like 10 mins and then switch to auto. oh the other time i use it is when i clean up the house. turn it on high before i start sweeping and vacuuming the house. definitely works cause can see all the particle buildup on the back protective thingie...
but i turn the purifier around though so the front faces the wall and the vent is open. dunno why its at the back. hmm.

same thing, my FPE50EW also act as a dust collector. the only thing is why the air intake is design at the back and air outlet is also the same direction, which is at the back. 😅
i switch it around 4 to 8 hours a day. the air definitely feels lighter in comparison if for days i forgot to switch it on.

kan. i think the design a bit dumb hahah. but unless its some special air circulation thing we dont understand LOL. but the thing quite interesting. when i wake up all is green, the moment spray a little bit of deo in my toilet, keluar and sudah yellow. damn fast. impressive.

you should tried like fart five feet away hahahaha... it will tells you how many seconds it took the airflow to reach the air purifier when the "odor" changes color to yellow.
but regarding the design, i think its a bit dumb also. it could place nicely like behind a sofa in the middle of a room so the controls and indicator is facing back and air outlet is propel to the sofa but other than that, putting it near walls or corners, i feel it will limit the airflow because air inlet and air outlet is same direction and i think nobody will want the back facing them if put in corners, where the controls and indicators will be somewhat a bit troublesome to reach.
i bought that panasonic for my niece. Its one dust filter + one carbon filter. its ok for the price. enough for 10m2 and very quiet. i think it does the job well enough as removes dust and allergens as well as some minor odors. but if you are very sensitive then need a HEPA. if not, then its good enough. its also approved by British Allergy Foundation. its pretty small.
i have another sharp one FPE50 something or other. forgot. that one is hepa and very good. but thats pricier. but have more settings and bigger filter.
never used or read up about khind filter

thanks for the input! my main concern is the dust accumulation in my room. now I checked Sharp has increased price by rm80.
I want to ask, which air purifiers reduce dust - not only in the air but also on the floor. Got such thing? I've an air purifier ioniser (Amcorp now discontinued) - I notice I need to vacuum more as it sets the dust down on the floor and worktops and shelves... Need to dust more...

ioniser if not mistaken charges the air slightly which causes floating dust particles to clump together and thus be heavier. They will then fall to the ground/surface. so need to dust/vacuum more often.
hopefully with a stronger air purifier, it will then sedut and keep the dust inside. LOL

Any air purifier can remove dust, it's one of the reason to get air purifier. Ioniser is not an air purifier, it only capture dust and bring it down to your floor...

Stronger air purifier depends on the CADR and room capacity, but beware of those marketing scam, some brands over claim.
