can I know how you guys use your note? I got mine for almost a week already.. but I feel the battery life quite weak.. usually last me less than 8 hours.. i dont make call/sms.. just watapps and fb most of the time..
*
how many charge/discharge cycle you have done? Optimum battery life will only achieve after 3-4 complete charge and complete discharge cycle. I do this for every phones i had. Charge to full 100%, for the first time, keep charging it even after it reaches 100% for another 1-2 hours. Then use it until it full discharge and auto off. Repeat this cycle 3-4 times and the battery life will become better and better.

Part of the reason is to achieve the optimum battery life, part of the reason is to "calibrate" or "condition" the battery so that the battery level give the correct reading. For new battery, normally you will find the battery reading not accurate. For certain range of battery life, the battery level dropping very fast, for another range, the battery seems lasts longer.

Some will disagree on the above procedure or doubt its effectiveness but i will just continue doing this. laugh.gif

Depends on your plan. I think for 68, after 3GB is limited to 128kbps as per their reminder sms.
*
i heard some users say this is for existing users. all new sign up start from somewhere September will be throttled to 5kbps only. But i never reach my limit so i am not sure.

hey guys, i'm thinking of upgrading from my SGS2 to the Note... is it recommended? or any of u feel it's a wee bit too huge? My hands are pretty huge, pockets aren't though... LOL

BTW, any idea which Digi has stock for the Note? Been trying to get phone numbers for their stores but even Digi helpline won't give me the numbers saying that I need to walk in to enquire about stock. That's just mad... Am busy working and jamming through everywhere just to find out about stock is pure madness when phones are available everywhere... ridiculous
*
dun ask us whether it is too huge or not coz all of us here who bought it will just find the screen size "just nice". laugh.gif

yes, DiGi sales is a bit crazy and idiotic, they dun give contact number of their DSS or BC. doh.gif Just like they dun allow customers to extend contract, need to wait until existing contract expires, stupid!!!!!!!!!!! vmad.gif

I just received SP from sherly_star(LYN member) for GNote. Excellent service. Fast and reliable.Strongly rec.

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...t=0&p=46784696&

Very honours seller. i actually bank in more than suppose to be because of short of small note and out of my expectation i have his/her return cash in the parcel. thanks sherly_star.
*
yes, got one from her too, should be receiving it tomorrow. Since it is so cheap, got a new piece for my wife's Desire too. biggrin.gif

I think most likely Gingerbread not taking full advantage of the dual core architecture yet, thus the slight lag. Hopefully ICS will give significant improvement. Anyway, my Note is quite smooth. Trying and setting up ADW launcher now, it seems silk smooth currently, maybe due to new installation? hmm.gif

Bought one of these just yesterday, I've not used SGP cases before but I'm not a fool. The S-pen is not accessible once the case goes on, I'm doubtful they're genuine.
*
it is hard plastic or TPU? S-Pen cannot be pull out after the case is fixed is totally fail. doh.gif I like the shiny finishing and slim profile. Getting one from Spore next week or so - not fake SGP though, just generic brand. Just get a temporary casing before Case-mate or Otterbox make one for Note. biggrin.gif

how much is the SP? im waiting the SP as well. feeling great in naked. haha.. the screen is so smooth. downside is when i call the screen is all smudge
*
yes, my oily face leave some smudge on the screen.... sux. shakehead.gif scare to use the S Pen too but today will receive my SP. brows.gif Just RM11 with postge - check out >>this link<<.

At the moment, just take whatever available on the market first before all the popular brands release the higher end ones. But actually I found that the free SP come with my Epik case for my Desire previously pretty good, never change it after i applied it. But this time the SP for Note need to take abuse from the S Pen, so i am a bit doubtful those cheapo ones can take it or not.

on sgs2... i used to get E (Edge) connections only.

on note... i get H (HSDPA) connections.
*
yes, Note definitely better in signal compared my Desire HD - better signal reception for GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile network - OUTSTANDING!!!!

Added on November 23, 2011, 12:46 pmbtw, just call the DiGi promoter who i bought the Note from. She said for DiGi set, we will not get the sms warranty confirmation, we just need to keep the receipt. They will submit a warranty report in batch to DiGi then in turn will pass to Samsung. sweat.gif

I think i will just go Samsung web site and do the registration myself, just to be safe. rolleyes.gif

wow 18 hours and still left with 42%? pretty good battery life. Mine can last just around 14 hours max and time to hit the charger.
*
yes, the battery life is getting better and better with each complete full charge and full discharge. Using pretty heavily yesterday to setup ADW Launcher EX. Give up touchwiz, really cannot stand the iphon-ish interface. shakehead.gif ADW Launcher EX is silky smooth on my Note, no a slight lag at all. thumbup.gif

Maybe i should try doing a full charge and discharge. Need the batteries to last longer hours or another option is wait for original note batteries to be sold in the shops and grab on as spare.

Do you leave your phone on edge or 3g/hspda?
*
doing a full charge and discharge is not enough - need to do 3-4 times to improve battery life and calibrate the battery meter. I think for Note, using a spare battery is feasible, unlike Desire HD which has a filmsy battery cover - changing the battery frequently is dangerous. I have a mobile charger previously used for the DHD but so far no chance to use it on the Note, just need to keep it for long overseas trip. biggrin.gif

Nope, data connection only be turned on when needed outside my wifi zone. But at home/office, wifi is turned on all the time.

Change the icons size in the settings. You can change it further as a system-wise option in Spare Parts +. Otherwise if you're comfortable with it, set it so that only the icon shows and not the labels, you can allocate it so that it takes bigger space.

Other than that, I'm glad I'm not that old. tongue.gif Fat icons makes it looks like child's device.
*
wow.. thanks. miss that in the settings. But can only change the icon size of desktop? Icon size of App Drawer still so small - can't find any setting to change it. blush.gif
