just tell them you will pay the remaining by cash.
actually i found out another method to utilize the 10 drinks free 1 beverage benefit.

starting you have RM20 in your card,

buy 1 drinks,

you left an amount less than RM10,

2nd drinks,

you wont have enough balance, so tell the barista you will pay the remaining by cash.

3rd drinks,

top up RM20.

4th drinks,

you wont have enough balance, so tell the barista you will pay the remaining by cash.

and so on and so forth,

10th drinks will land with you finishing up all the balance.

voila! i feel this method is less awkward to ask the barista to use just RM2 in the card to pay the drinks. hahahaha.

If your balance is lower, barista would ask you to top-up first also.

I prefer my method because I actually teach the cashier to do something they wouldn't know at all... Master Yoda at work

why all the trouble? in the end we are still paying the same amount for the drinks no matter it's cash or preloaded
*
We are trying to maximise the discount only....
By paying less to get the Buy10,Free1 is much better

because there are actually people who just want to buy 10 drinks asap to use the benefit and they are changing card. this is not a method for you (assuming you are a regular customer who only use 1 card). rclxms.gif

rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif I'm definitely in the Buy 10 Free 1 immediately group. I can also collect new Starbucks card design.

Based on my calculation, the Buy 10 Get 1 Promo, reduces the "perceived discount value" for the Starbucks Card.

If we get a newly activate Starbucks Card at RM20, we can get "perceived discount value" up to 124.50%

Since you have successfully paid with multiple Starbucks card for 1 receipt, how does the beverage tracker work ?

The free handcrafted drink with registration. Does it included extra espresso shots and syrup?
*
Actually, you add espresso shot (make it double for me) and syrup to the FREE beverage.... Some store charge the extra on the receipt but you don't need to pay.

Some stores don't charge additional espresso shots... some store will charge. If they charge, I avoid them.

You can claim just the slice of cake (w/o buying drinks) at the same time.... You just need to buy a drink prior for the Tracker to show a star (before you claim the cake.)

Reload min of RM 50.

For the charm key chain, reload with min of RM 120 while stock last.

Just to confirm : I don't need to reload RM170 (RM50+RM120) to get Mini Card + Charm Keychain, right ?

Excuse me if off topic. Are venti fraps all single shot espresso. I ordered a caramel frap yesterday and asked for double shot and was charged extra 1.80. Okay?
*
Venti (largest size) beverage comes with 2 shots of espresso by default.
Another 2 shots is chargeable... so you better ask if you need to pay. If need to pay, I say "No Thanks"
