they need to mark up 25% for the profits,
Easier calculation : Lets say 1 ounze gold is 1,600 USD means 1,600 X 3.2 ( usd to Rm ) / 31.1gram = RM 164.6 per gram. That means goldsmith will take RM 164.6 X 1.25 = RM 205.75 << This is the price quoted in most of the goldsmith, some markup 20% and some 25%

Anyone managed to convert their paper gold to physical gold from the banks? I mean the same bank from where the paper gold was bought.
What would be the charges?
Cos when asked the bank, they cannot give an answer. They only say that they will need to check.
Understandable that this will depends on the current gold rate, but there wouldn't the bank have a standard surcharge or like that? Anyone can clarify?

after add RM 220 and RM 240 (= about RM16840) it is more expensive than pamp gold (be it fortuna = rm16650, casting bar rm16550 or dragon RM16730)... and wonder what type of gold does PB give you...

so... imo, if buy more than 50 g... get pamp...

if you plan invest gold... buy physical if can... smile.gif once you determine how much you want to buy then go look for best offer... dont go retail gold shop like poh kong and tomei buy... as they follow FGJAM price = @@, dont buy jewelry as they follow FGJAM price + 15% for upah = less worth... find places or sellers sells follow spot price + % as margin...

the best is to buy gold bars or gold coins at your convenience, choose either pamp, maple etc is good enough ... larger = cheaper per gram (long term), smaller = more easy to liquidate but higher cost per gram... good start = 5g/10g/20g/1oz to 50g/100g
