Last time, I try applied the Company Confidential label on jobstreet for Admin Exec position.
It turns out Tropicana Corporation Berhad company called me for interview session.
I guess some of the companies out there want to avoid high volume of application.
In the majority of cases, companies do that not because they need to remain anonymous, but because it's a confidential search, eg. to find a replacement for an existing employee who is about to get managed out. It turns out Tropicana Corporation Berhad company called me for interview session.
I guess some of the companies out there want to avoid high volume of application.
Occasionally it could be because the company is going on a new market expansion or launching a new business unit and things are still under wraps but they need talent today already. Or due to a new direction that the business is heading towards that hasn't been officially announced to the public or for legal reasons, hence recruiters are not allowed to reveal the company name until they shortlist candidates from the pool of applicants.
As a job seeker, if you are trying to find out if this 'Company Confidential' is really worth your time, do this:
Scrutinise the job posting, see how in-depth the job description is, how well-articulated or presented it is, if the recruiter reveals anything about the industry or market that the employer is in, work culture, organisational values, etc. These are usually hallmark of a reputable and good employer worth applying to even if you don't know who at this stage.
