QUOTE(xtjs @ Dec 12 2012, 04:39 PM)
thanks
the connecting flight is to bali

so means i do web check in first.  (this is ok)

after this only have collect the luggage n do again  check in luggage for the next flight
any other checks to do?

how long is the queue for check in luggage normally?

shall i do this...  get my wife to queue at check in luggage while i go collect the luggage?

so if check in the luggage before 5.30pm ..i am safe?
*
Try ask at Penang airport if they can help you check-in luggage all the way to Bali. Then you no need collect and re-checkin the luggage. But at least keep 1 set of clothes in hand-carry, in case you arrive to Bali, but luggage still in LCCT KUL sweat.gif

Yes, ask wife queue first if she is alright type tongue.gif Later spoil holiday mood tongue.gif

better to queue than missing the flight rite? tongue.gif

they can do that? check in the baggage all the way to bali? can trust them?
*
If AA all the way, it may be possible. I never travel AA from Pg with transit connection. You have to ask at check-in counter there.

QUOTE(vin_ann @ Dec 13 2012, 10:22 AM)
im keep asking myself, why on earth i booked 0645 flight.

it's mean around 5am have to reach LCCT, 4am depart from KL, 3am wake up to get ready!

just did my web-check in for my Sat flight n Sun flight return. Brought additional luggage, RM50, paid with CC, but without extra charges. why?  Printed out my web check in confirmation....

anything that i need to aware of? it's since May 2011 my last flight with AA... hope there's improvement...
*
If you already web-checkin, then is just 60 minutes before to check-in luggage. i.e. 5:45am.
Therefore, I suggest to reach LCCT around 5:30am, which means, take the 4:30am bus (around 45 minutes only in early morning speeding) with some leeway.
Means ... reach KL Sentral (if you take Skybus) at 4:15am, depends what time you need to wake up and go there.

QUOTE(TSOM @ Dec 13 2012, 10:28 AM)
do most people buy food on long distance flight like KL-Australia or KL-Tokyo??
*
I do prebook meals. The last time I saw, those who didn't prebook, was like fighting for food from air-steward/dress.
More like a shouting auction and everyone demands to pay for the last few cups of maggi-cup noodles. It was a KUL-MEL flight around 8-9 hours. It was so ... messy.
I was lucky to be enjoying my food (prebook is served first), while the rest were flagging their cash around to attract attention to place order.

My advise is always plan ahead. If the flight is longer than 3-4 hours, check the flight times if it cross over breakfast/lunch/dinner.

Anyone knows how to claim airport tax refund? Should the claim be done before or after the flight (Not going to check in)?
*
Located normally inside departure hall (on your flight home). Sometimes is before/after immigration.

QUOTE(zeese @ Dec 18 2012, 09:32 AM)
guys.. is it okay if the name of the ticket had a misspelling. I asked them to fix my kids name. Previously, it was wrong. They fixed it, but, it still not 100% correct. It is supposed to be "Muhammad" XXX bin XXX, but they wrongly fixed it as "Mohd" XXX bin XXX.  Can I just ignore the spell, or do I really have to contact them again to have them fixed it again?

tq.
*
May not be issue if travel within Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, etc.
But some countries may not recognise it (on your flight home)
For me, I'll get it sorted out properly to have a peace of mind.

QUOTE(tehtmc @ Dec 18 2012, 12:34 PM)
Received sms from AA recently telling people to arrive at the LCCT 3 hrs before time of departure instead of the usual 2 hours. What is the situation at the LCCT now? Is it still so crowded that you need to arrive 3 hours ahead?

Due to take flight from LCCT on Monday 24 Dec, Christmas eve.
*
Holiday period, bla bla bla, even already web-checkin, try to be there at least 1.5-2.0 hours earlier.
You don't want to run around like headless chicken, or sweat like a turkey if the baggage check in queue is very long.
Once done, just go have a cup of coffee/tea or just relax a bit.

I walk through LCCT a lot so trust me you haven't seen everything yet. Try having 30 people from multiple flights within 30 minutes of boarding squeezed into one counter. Then you have the misinformed traveller who overpacked and refuses to pay excess baggage charges, reorganizing their bags.

Why take the risk and rush where you can plan and arrive with ample time to spare.
*
... and when they missed the flight or barred from check-in/boarding ... they cry/jump/roll around like a small kid rolleyes.gif

Guys.. for international flight, where do I do document verification for international flight?

-Do they verify the document together while doing the luggage check in or I have to check in my luggage first, then go to another different counter for document verification?
*
What document verification ? You mean passport ? Normal procedure when reach airport (for departure) is:
1) web check-in earlier or check-in at counter to get boarding pass.
2) check-in luggage or drop-off (and pay penalty if exceed or whatever, at different cashier counter)
3) walk to immigration to verify passport.
4) pass-by Customs (if any) for declaration
5) now you should be inside already
6) some will have cordoned off boarding gate, remember to be here at least 30 minutes before actual flight time.
7) board airplane.

There will be several times of x-ray scan.

thanks but its not double booking..its a connectiing flight
*
If it's same AA to AA, you need to ask at the counter when you drop off the luggage.
Domestic-domestic ?
Domestic-international ?

Remember to bring a set of clothes in hand-carry, as there are chances of luggage delay, missed, lost.

We are not working for Air Asia, nor decision maker. The best is for you to call/email Air Asia customer support/hotline to inquire directly.

What if I tell you ... yes, you can change. Do you believe me ? What if later AA says you can't change, will you mad.gif me ?

QUOTE(guy3288 @ Jun 22 2013, 08:43 AM)
hello frens, i need to fly to JB from Penang today.

Checked AA website there is direct flight available there, but i wanted to call up the office to make sure no landing problem in JB due to heavy haze.

The other day i heard some flights were diverted to Subang due to heavy haze disallow landing.

I tried called 03 21719222, 04-2629882 but nobody there to answer at all..

Anybody knows of any A Asia flight problem from haze in JB?

If i have paid the tickets online and A Asia cant fly today due to haze, and i had to travel by other means to JB, any idea if AAsia will refund  money?

Why A Asia has no customer service to answer questions........sigh.

Thanks for  urgent info.
*
No one can guarantee you on weather, not even God/non-God (atheist)

Even if they tell you no problem on weather, your flight take off, 15 minute later, heavy smoke come, and airport close airport for landing, how ?

not to hijack the AA thread but not familiar with aircraft (planning to go Taiwan on MAS).  notworthy.gif

cathay KL-HK what aircraft? (ride before and want to know which one more cramp)
MAS to Taipei using Boeing 737-800 got TV for economy seat?
*
I recall KUL-HKG CX are using 777
If manage to get front seats like rows 4-5, the seats are like old-business class type. Quite wide and long leg space.
