September 2013. Want it cooler, but maybe typhoon season. Taking risk and praying for luck again. smile.gif

Like Krabi this year in July, monsoon season, but not a single drop of rain, until we're at the airport on the way home.

No doubt, current promotions and surcharges can't compare with 2-3 years ago. whistling.gif
Overall, I feel the nett total has increased by 50-100% rclxub.gif
But still, ok la. Affordable to visit some other countries tongue.gif

just wanna ask something, lets say 3 persons travel in the same itinerary...

1st person booked 30kg baggage
2nd person booked 20kg baggage
3rd person never book check in baggage...

so when travel time, total 3 luggages to check in, total less than 50kg, is there any problem?

coz only 2 persons purchase baggae but 3 baggages to check in...

seek your advice biggrin.gif thanks!
*
If booking under 1 single invoice, then no problem. Always do that for group travel using AA.
All must check in together.
If not single invoice, depends on their mood/strictness. 50-50

No limit on number of bags, but be reasonable lah. Like you say, 3 people to check in 3-6 bags are fine, as long don't exceed 50kg

Tips: utilize the 7kg hand carry.
If 3 people = 21 kg already, but of course no liquid, so stuff your clothes here. Use those vacuum zipper bag, buy from daisho, to squeeze it become smaller, so the bag can fit as handcarry size. You can also use that vacuum bag as neck-pillow or backbone.
The rest check in, one person book 30kg is enough (3x 10kg luggage). brows.gif

Just remember that 1 bag should not exceed 32 (?) kg. If not then cannot check in.
*
Yes, a single bag cannot exceed 32kg, even if purchase 2x pax 30kg each. Must split into multiple bags.
This policy applies to many other flights, not just AA.
Due to health, OSH, spine safety, union, etc. for those baggage handling workers.

QUOTE(DikkieD @ Sep 28 2012, 02:56 PM)
Hi,

I flew to Hangzhou a while ago and because of a technical problem we had to turn back after only 30 minutes of flying. Because of the amount of fuel the plane had to fly circles above KL before we were allowed to land. The flight departed at 5.20pm and we got back at LCCT at 10pm. An hour later our flight still departed (again) and we arrived at Hangzhou airport at 5.20am....airport was closed so only at 7am were we able to get a taxi to our hotel. Our room was 'sold' because we didn't show up, although we had paid for it already.

So...a pretty shitty flight.

Now AirAsia has contacted us to let us know we get free tickets to spend on a new trip. We are however unable to fly the next few months. Do you guys/gals know if it is possible to simply sell these vouchers or are they locked to our names?
*
If your room is fully paid (not deposit only), then you can claim back if you book from Agoda, etc. by giving the details & available proof.

want to ask, 0645 flight, what time i have to take Skybus from LCCT?

earliest bus shown in the schedule is 0300 !
*
Assume already do web check-in, and only need to check in luggage.
Means arrive before 5:45am, as still need to walk (or run) to the counter.
Means latest is 5am bus depart from KL Sentral, cause they usually speeding in early morning, 45 minutes can arrive.
For me, I'll take the safer option, 4am or 4:30am already sitting in the bus at KL Sentral. Do take note, the bus can get full very fast sometimes.

To me, I want a relax journey. Don't want to run like a mad-headless-chicken to chase here and there, which I see quite frequent in any airports in the world laugh.gif

but then, travelling to LCCT via Skybus available?

Means before 5:45am, must reach LCCT to check in luggage. Assume you web-check in already much earlier.

QUOTE(lilyginger @ Nov 6 2012, 08:30 PM)
I got a very bad experience with Air Asia when I tried to book for the zero fare.

On 29th October 2012, I was taking I was taking advantage of the free seat promotion and I was booking the trip to Bangkok for 2 person from 15th June 2013 to 18th June 2013. The flight that I was interested in was suppose to be at 13:40 departure from KL to BKK and 12:05pm departure from BKK to KL. When I was going to make payment, I click on the wrong payment option of debit card.

When I click on the back button on my internet explorer, the Air Asia website in its unprofessional and unethical stunt, went to change my original flight date to 18th June 2013 to 21st June 2013. As I was rushing to make the payment since the offer is limited in time, the time of the flight have also been changed to 15:05pm on 18th June 2013 to 7:10am on 21st June 2013. Can you imagine the time of rushing back to Malaysia on 7:10am of 21st June 2013, I can bet Air Asia do it on purpose because that is suppose to be the most unpopular flight hour.

I know after this probably no action from Air Asia or maybe more worst, pretentious caring attitude from Air Asia. No choice since no frill can also be the excuse of no ethic and no professionalism. I don't think I can change the flight time as it will cost another whopping RM200++ which is already half of the flight cost.

So this is a lesson to everyone that Air Asia if got a change it will cheat and cheat.

Now their website is even unfriendlier than last time and further, the Airasiago pun sama saja the bad website design.
*
Did you click the Back button on your web-browser ? hmm.gif
Cause I don't think there is a back button within AA website when navigated until payment option there.

If you click the web-browser Back button, it will retrieve the initial data, i.e. I believe your first choice of searching for travel date is 18-21 June. When you have searched, then only you re-search and pick the 15-18 date.

Anyway, I'm not siding AA, I hate it sometimes also as I've encounter it before. But seems like that's how the workflow of their system is currently.

Also, as stated above, before make payment, double/triple check all the details like date, time, flight info, seats, insurance, meals, passenger details, etc.

I have never even select the original 18-21 June but they still come out with that date for me. I am also not sure why they selected such early flight for return and such late flight for departure. Haih, say anything also no use because we know how good is AA.

Not the issue of double checking more like Air Asia on purpose re-schedule the flight and I noted when I confirm to pay, no message pop up for me to confirm.
*
Well, I thought there is a final summary page, to confirm everything, before you choose to pay using Debit / Credit card. There is no pop-up, since the detail summary (for you to confirm) can't fit into the entire small pop-up window. Unless you click too fast whistling.gif

Can someone recommend good and reliable Taxi Company to LCCT? 4 person from Bandar Utama to LCCT.
*
I would not say any taxi company is good/reliable. It depends on individual drivers. Some who travel frequent, will have own taxi driver, just a call and the taxi driver will arrange everything. If overlap, he will arrange his taxi friends to help out.

Perhaps some can share to help Senior Citizen ?

Note: There is Skybus as early as 4am from 1U to LCCT at about RM15 per pax. Can ask kids/neighbours to fetch there ? Maybe slightly troublesome.

Buy 1 to KL, another to Bali. No choice.
*
Just be aware, there is risk of Pg-KL flight delay, cancel, etc. Hence plan ahead. The transit don't be too tight like 4 hours. To me, although it is enough, it can be risky. Unless you buy the ticket full check-in at Pg until Bali, and AA will put you on next flight for free if delay. But wasted already lor.

Thanks for your reply. This will be my first experience taking Air Asia. May be I will try Skybus.
*
Some additional info for your first time:
- Hope you aware the 1U Skybus terminal is at the new wing open air car-park at the far end (facing Ikea there).
- Try to arrange to take the bus earlier by 30-45 minutes, since this is your first time. I'm sure you don't want to get panic IF whatever happens, and don't miss the flight.
- Check out the cost, if RM15 x 4 = RM60. A LCCT Limo Budget taxi from 1U->LCCT, I think maybe cost RM75-85 +/- ? But you need to see how big are all the luggages, as a standard KLIA/LCCT taxi normally fits 3 adults + big luggages, or 4 adults + medium/small luggages.

If really take the bus, go do some check/scouting earlier at 1U.

Booked my flight ticket to Taipei yesterday for Nov 2013. RM720 included flight meal + luggage..

As I heard that AA will random assign seat or intentionally separate the group. If I travel in group of 7 and wish to sit together.
Should I purchase it anytime before web check in? or Should I wait after perform web-check in? then if the seats are not allocated side by side, I only purchased the seat for those who seat far away.

This is my first time flying with AA. Hope someone with experience could help me out.
Thanks
*
Do the web check-in days earlier before the flight. Just let it assign, and you can see the seats allocated.
There is no way to change it for free.
Hence, you may need to try at different days/time to see the effect.

Otherwise, based on the allocated seat, just unclick few seats you want to change, and click onto the seats you want. In this way, you pay minimal maybe just 1-3 seats to select.
REMEMBER do NOT unclick the seats that you do not want to change. If you unclick and click on the same seat, it will be charged also. Hence, you have to click 'Back' and start all over again for the web check-in.

You can do the same for the return flight also.

QUOTE(johnchew91 @ Nov 29 2012, 09:19 AM)
Will AA refresh/reallocate the seat everytime I redo the check in?
*
Yes, it is refreshed to load the latest one.
Changes will only show, if there are other people who web check-in at similiar time with you, once the seats are taken. Therefore, refreshing within the same minute/hour, may not yield any changes at all. Sometimes no changes in 2-5 days also.

That is why my earlier suggestion, to make it easy, just unclick 1-3 seats, and choose.
If really kiamsiap tongue.gif just split that cost to 7 persons.

QUOTE(ronnie @ Nov 29 2012, 10:04 AM)
I don't believe so.
I went to Web Check-In within 14 days of the Departure and 7 days of the Departure... still show the same seat allocated. I don't believe AA's programmer is going to make it that dynamic. Why bother ?
*
It means during that period, no other people do web-check in, for that flight, for that day.

QUOTE(stimix @ Nov 29 2012, 10:07 AM)
In the 1st place, can we redo web check-in? haha..As far as I know.. once web check-in, it's final liao.. no more changes or add-on anymore
*
Yep. Final cannot change. I think what ronnie means is he didn't web-check in within 14 days, and he recheck within 7 days.

QUOTE(stimix @ Nov 29 2012, 11:03 AM)
But the seat only auto -allocated after we do web check-in and no way we can go back anymore haha. If no web check-in the seat will not be auto allocated right  hmm.gif ..Well, I dun buy seats that's why I might be wrong.. I just let the system choose after web-check in. Most of the time got seperated..sometime all all 3 of us seperated far away...Lucky, most of the time after the plane took off, we exchange seats on friendly environment haha..

And on my way bck from Haneda to LCCT, even the japanese AA ground staff changed all of us into one row after seeing 3 of us seperated far away... I really kowtow to the Japanese work culture & attitude.. No way you can find such a friendly AA ground staff  rclxms.gif
*
Yes, the seats are auto-allocated. But still need a confirm button click to "check-in".
After see the auto-allocate, if not happy, just close the web-browser tongue.gif without click confirm.
Then check again another date/time.

If know the flight will always not full, only 60-70%, then hentam anything auto-allocated is fine.
If hot-flight 90-100% full ... sweat.gif

*
You can web-check-in within 14-days of flight to see the pattern.
From day to day, you can see how many of the seats are being taken up. Normally it'll get taken up (checked-in) faster at the last few days.

IIRC, RM6 per seat only lah

Officially, if they found it, is no.

If they don't find it, then pass. I've mistakenly put a hotel matchbox in my hand-carry before and pass through x-ray several times. Even a small foldable scissors, but finally get consficated one fine day.
Also my nail-clipper which manage to travel to HK, but unable to make it back to KL.

All inside hand-carry.

Domestic flight don't have duty free liquor/ciggy shops.

But assuming you get the bottle from somewhere, yes, you can put into check-in luggage, as many bottles as you want. If the bottles are legal (tax & duty paid), even kastam check you at destination (domestic flight) is fine. You are just bringing it within the country.

But if it is not taxed or duty not paid ... brows.gif kantoi

QUOTE(xtjs @ Dec 12 2012, 02:00 PM)
what are the chances of domestic pg - kl flight delayed?

my flight will be at 2.55pm penang arriving 3.55pm lcct and connecting flight at 6.30pm

cannot afford any delays here

damn.. first time taking air asia n screwed up the planning.

web check in can also do for the flight to bali or is it only for domestic?
*
Please do web-checkin for all flights and print-out first.

connecting flight is international ? domestic ?
6:30pm, means 5:30pm later to check-in luggage (if already web check in)
If not yet web-check in, latest is 4:30pm (2 hours)

You touch down 3:55pm at domestic side. By the time the plane taxi into parking, disembark, walk into terminal, wait ... wait ... wait ... to collect luggage, easily 4:15-4:30pm already.
Then, if international, need to run all the way to next door terminal and re-check-in the luggage before 5:30pm (repeat: already web-checkin).

To me, is do-able. But any delay of >30 minutes at Pg ... sweat.gif
e.g. heavy rain + lightning = plane cannot take off.
Or flight from KL->Pg delay, hence causing Pg->KL delay.

If no check-in luggage, just hand-carry, minimum also need to check-in at 5:30pm in LCCT KL.
