Hi,

Can recommend between MikroTik RB951Ui-2HnD / RB951G-2HnD & RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN for home use, to replace unifi original router, which certain area in my house has weak spot signal. (double storey).
thanks!
Tan

Hi Tan,

RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN is significantly better than both RB951 in your case and it is definitely great replacement for your original router to improve the wireless coverage. However, to know whether it can cover your desired spot, a site survey is required. smile.gif

However about, In term of transmission power any difference between them?

RB2011UiAS-2HnD is a bit high end budget hehee...
*
The transmit power is the same for them, the most significant difference is external and internal antennas. biggrin.gif

ya.. noticed the internal is 2.5dbi and external is 4dbi
am i right?

any option for adding external antenna to the RB951?? hehe...
*
Yes you are right. There is no way to put external antenna on RB951 series unless you do soldering...

Anyway, the antenna is just part of the story, the radio design also play big part for the performance. biggrin.gif

Hi, suggest me a decent unifi router replacement.

Mine showing dying symptoms already.

Best price pleaseeeeee...maybe COD.
*
Hi hafiez,

There are 2 great MikroTik models for home here you can consider, either RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN or RB951G.

RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN is a better model here with 2 external antennas, touchscreen and RouterOS L5 license.

Both models have gigabit ports.

You can check out their details at following URLs.

i'm interested. in practical, how large is the signal coverage? can give estimate?
*
Hi scar_face008,

The wireless coverage is greatly depending on the environment, obstacles like wall and nearby interferences impact it a lot. What certain is this device transmit power is very high (1000mW) and most of our customers reported significant improvement over the stock router. biggrin.gif

Hi Bro,

It's really depending on many environment factors, and even 2 storey house got very huge one, but it's definitely much better than the stock router. biggrin.gif
