Wait, I think I know where the place is for the first cabinet in the picture... I have been there if i'm not mistaken.. it's somewhere in Shah Alam... It's a guarded and gated community...
It's in Setia Alam. I just borrowed it to do some explanation.
Usually you'll see these cabinets labelled with:
[Area Code] followed by:
F
R
VxxxxV (most recent ones)
It does not GUARANTEE that you'll be getting Unifi though except provide hints that fibre is available.

could this be the first area "service" by P1 ?
V = VDSL ? some said it is 2mbps, which I don't think so, ADSL has been long supporting 4mbps
but anywhere, thinking writing to Menteri Besar can share some light of the internet at Perak?
Huh P1? However we are the one of the 1st areas in Ipoh to be serviced by P1 which is true.
I don't have an idea what V also means. Absolutely no idea.
V= video, VDSL, velocity, whatever.
But if you see cabinet type(1) you know there's fibre in your area already.

Alternatives for Last Mile connectivity:
• Broadband Over Powerline (BOP)
• Long Term Evolution (LTE) 4G
• Fiber-to-the-home (FTTH)
I would disagree and oppose (BOP). FTTH should be the preferred choice.
without an extensive fibre network, BOP and LTE won't materialize.
It as simple idea as trying to plug in a 256kbps DSL WAN connection into a 300mbps MIMO Wireless-N router. Would you still experience fast internet connection? How about replacing the WAN connection with a 100mbps FTTH line?
Same applies to BOP substations and LTE access points. Are you going to get enough internet experience if bandwidth is insufficient?

I don't think its available at my area, I can only saw TSK 090. LOL.
Your area's exchange is already servicing Unifi. Any new cables running on the telephone poles that you noticed?
The road leading into Tambun turning in from Jln. Sultan Azlan Shah already has one of the type(2) cabinet in front of the army camp.Place close attention on your way back to Tambun town. Sunway Tambun also already covered with one of type(2) cabinets just in front of Sunway College branch. Confirm it with TM staffs if you see them on the streets working nearby your place by striking a conversation with them.

i dont think the 1st type meant anything to do with unifi, becoz the 1st one can be seen in almost anywhere in malaysia, it's just FTTS for streamyx.
Yes you're right. It doesn't meant anything except just an early indication that fibre is already available in your housing area. Most areas in KV right before Unifi launch were getting these remote cabinets 2 years back.
Until you see type(2) cabinets appearing in your area, FTTH won't be available in your area.
I've not heard of VDSL2 being to depoyed to landed homes yet until now so there's no way those type(1) cabinet will be serving Unifi to landed homes.

The entrance to the shortcut to Greentown, nearby Menteri Besar house.
Thanks. I will try to find it on my way to Greentown in the next few days.
If not mistaken, that cable is leading to Greentown Business Centre and where Maxis office is.
