QUOTE(ekudz @ Nov 22 2011, 03:14 PM) tried SGNote yesterday ... it using KJ6 .. and inside phone memory or sd card we can see the total space that the app/games using .. exp .. in SGW we only can see 4MB for a game but actually the game is 100MB .. but in NOTE we can see total 104MB .. interesting. could it be SGNote dont have /sdcard ? everything stored on the phone 16GB storage?is it because of the KJ6 -- another thing Apps2SD cant move eternal legacy games .. |

QUOTE(msn83235502 @ Nov 22 2011, 07:40 PM) the only drawback of W is the storage. u get 1.04gb on internal storage. and 1.7gb sdcard storage. some people might confuse the sdcard storage is the sdcard u bought. but not. the sdcard storage is internal.u cant change that and even. the sdcard u bought is named external_sd on this device.so no matter how big u bought, such as 16gb or 32gb.. u are only able to store music, videos, pics, documents inside it. all your application is limited to 1.7gb sdcard storage and 1.04gb internal storage.and app2sd also will not move your app to external_sd solved by mount bind in my previous post. I can now map any folder in /sdcard into external sd. App won't know the difference since it similar to soft link. |

QUOTE(patdidi @ Nov 22 2011, 09:14 PM) Is this problem happen to every android phone? Or is only happen to Samsung, micro-sd card become the 3rd storage(correct me if i wrong). Not Android problem. Not all Samsung phone too. Ace don't have this problem since there is no internal storage. Afaik, s2,s and w has this issue. Samsung should just use all as internal storage like what most vendor do.But there are more than one solution to this issue..you can: 1) patch the game (no need root) 2) swap mount point between /sdcard and /sdcard/external_sd (need root) 3) format internal sd as ext4 and use soft link 4) use mount bind (need root) Etc...... you dont need app such as Android Injector, it's useless, at least for us. you can enable installation of APK from "unknown source" in the setting.

QUOTE(ekudz @ Nov 22 2011, 10:45 PM) i already download apk files and sd files (zip.files) for a game. but then where to put the zip files in my sd card after i install the apk file? depend on the app and game. but most of them require u to unzip it first.do i need to unzip 1st in pc or i just copy and paste the whole zip file .. //this is much easier than need to download data file via wifi.. if gameloft, always in /sdcard/gameloft if ShadowGun, it's in /sdcard/Android/ |

QUOTE(ekudz @ Nov 22 2011, 11:57 PM) ok .. /sdcard/android/data/ is under my memory card or phone memory? /sdcard/Android/data is under your "phone memory". you see, the internal storage of the SGW divided into 2:because when go to /sdcard got another folder name external sd.. is this my sd card 16gb? another thing ... if got this file '' com.galapagossoft.trialx2_gl2 '' then after i unzip the file that i download .. i just paste the whole file inside the ''com.galapagossoft.trialx2_gl2'' ? 1) Phone memory 2) Internal SD (also known as USB) that mount into folder /sdcard When you plug in an external SD, it will be mount into: /sdcard/external_sd if after unzip you get "com.galapagossoft.trialx2_gl2", u just cut this folder, and put into /sdcard/Android/data |

QUOTE(vostro78 @ Nov 23 2011, 11:20 AM) ya, if don mind 2nd hand, suggest go for htc incredible s..... If not mistaken, some SGS+ using RFS file system that causes lag as experienced by many owners.now samsung galaxy s + also srop proce already..1150 can get new set. SGW has same spec (but smaller screen which I like), but using EXT4 file system, no longer has lag issue. This post has been edited by cowithgun: Nov 23 2011, 11:33 AM |

QUOTE(ekudz @ Nov 23 2011, 02:41 PM) already tested it .. so all the games are install inside sdcard(phone memory) not usb card (external memory) USB storage = internal storage = internal sd, they are in a confusing name "/sdcard"so we cant install many of high end android games inside SGW .. exp:if want to install internal legacy, we need at least 1.4gb free space inside sdcard (phone memory) ... so if the data inside ''/sdcard/Android/data'' cant be moved to external sd is it? erm.. External SD in using an even more confusing name "/sdcard/external_sd" To install Internal Legacy, u can either free up space (u have total 1.7gb) or do 1 of the following: 1) patch the game (no need root) 2) sawp mount point between /sdcard and /sdcard/external_sd (need root) 3) format internal sd as ext4 and use soft link 4) use mount bind (need root) Etc...... |

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Nov 23 2011, 02:26 PM) Just now went and check out the ram usage. SGW has 512MB RAM, once you boot up the phone, a RamDisk will be created and filled with critical OS files in the root folder (/). Leaving only 351MB for used.Around 350 ram is available for us to use. But thing is that 170+ was used up even though there wasn't any active applications in the background. I used the browser to surf 3 websites[desktop version] and it ate 100mb+ already. So total ram available was already almost full So what was the 170+ ram used up for? Then, Android OS and other components will be loaded into the memory. This is what taking the 170MB RAM. Browsers in desktop have been designed to use memory lavishly, on the other hand, Android app are more concern about memory. But need not worry if browser is taking too much RAM since all modern OS has Virtual memory concept. That mean, if not enough RAM, part of the storage can be used as RAM, but it will slow down tremendously of cause. Do not worry if your RAM usage is high, that mean Android is caching your favourite App. Unused app will be suspended and if continue to be unused, will be map to a file if there is a new App require more RAM. |

QUOTE(ekudz @ Nov 23 2011, 03:17 PM) 1) Soft link is a common technique in Unix that allow you to create a file or folder that is empty but point to another file. For example, u can create a softlink like this:CODE ln -s /sdcard/gameloft /sdcard/external_sd/gameloft This will create an empty folder "/sdcard/gameloft" that automatically point to the actual file contents in " /sdcard/external_sd/gameloft" That is done via OS level, so all App will be able to see as if all data is inside "/sdcard/gameloft" 2) To patch a game, you need to Decompile the APK using APKTool and dex2jar (google). Most of the time, after u decompile it, simply do a string search for the path such as "NaviSEA" and hex edit it. An easier alternative is to google for someone that already do that for you. Google "Gameloft sd card patch" |
