QUOTE(-kytz- @ Nov 23 2011, 03:48 PM) Ahhhh that's pretty informative. Thanks a lot! Humbly request TS to pin this up in the first post I only feel lag sometimes when playing Blood and Glory, but I suspect that is due to our GPU.You have this phone right? How much ram usage is the 'limit' before you feel some lag? Never feel lag due to low memory yet. My usage is now 314Mb/351mb, no lag. As I said, the high memory usage does not concern me since it is most likely storing App that I most commonly used or suspended. Based on that, you may think free memory is 351-314=37Mb left? That is not entirely true. Say when you start a game at this point, which require huge amount of memory, 37Mb is surely not enough. This is where the memory management will take place, store those suspended / cached / etc in the memory into disk storage (in linux, we call it swap file). By doing that, you free up space enough for the game to store most of it in the memory. You will probably only experience slow down when you first load the game in this case (in term of mini seconds lar). After that, no issue liao. Seriously, if RM1100, it's more worth than SGW. Dual core Tegra 2, 1GB RAM (SGW 512mb), 8 GB storage (SGW = 2GB), better battery, bigger screen (for people who like bigger screen)...
ya, Y U NO RELEASE SOONER! |

@CyberKewl: nice Android site!
About the video post about TF201 benchmark: (that's prolly 1 of very few TF201 review that actually come with real benchmark, good find!) TF201 Antutu Performance in 3.2.1: 6524 TF201 Antutu Performance in 4.0.1: > 10000 SGW Antutu Performance in 2.3.5: 3749 But I can see in Antutu Ranking, TF201 on 3.2.1 OC to 1.6GHz already can achieve 12872... Point is, I hope to see ICS update for SGW! This post has been edited by cowithgun: Nov 24 2011, 02:21 PM |

QUOTE(msn83235502 @ Nov 24 2011, 02:17 PM) nope, i m not using the swap method, but it should work.i m using mount bind that can "extend" my internal storage to the external sd card More info here: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2098558/+1740#entry46865404 But if u use the automated way, remember to change the SD-Hack.sh to use "mount -o bind" instead of "mount --bind"... Other methods are described here: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=46939482 |

QUOTE(danielcmugen @ Nov 25 2011, 08:59 PM) No need root to patch game. U need to find the patch (from google), sometimes it comes in a form of Windows executable that modify the game APK so that it will use the external sd card. In some cases, you can find APK that already patched which they will tell u that the game will use external sd card.Be mindful that when u download from untrusted source, there is always risk of malware.... So, if u want to patch it yourself... looky here: http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...entry46940692 |

QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Nov 26 2011, 08:15 AM) Sygic Malaysian map is 491.8 mb. Big file for SGW. Can store this in external SD card. Pls share. Thx. The malaysia map is only 30++mb.... the whole /Aura is just around 300mb for me...To put the map into external SD card, edit database.xml. inside the file, you should see something like a path: "Aura/Maps/................." change all of them into: "external_sd/Aura/Maps/..............." Do a search for "Aura (including the ") and replace all with "external_sd/Aura then move everything in that folder into /sdcard/external_sd/Aura except: 1. database.xml 2. base_is_ok.txt leave these 2 files in /sdcard/Aura |

QUOTE(cowithgun @ Nov 24 2011, 02:20 PM) @CyberKewl: nice Android site! Seem like Asus really don't like any review that expose the performance of tf201 except the one in antutu with more than 10k score. The video above that show tf201 only manage to get 6.5k (just slightly more than SGS 2) has been removed.About the video post about TF201 benchmark: (that's prolly 1 of very few TF201 review that actually come with real benchmark, good find!) TF201 Antutu Performance in 3.2.1: 6524 TF201 Antutu Performance in 4.0.1: > 10000 SGW Antutu Performance in 2.3.5: 3749 But I can see in Antutu Ranking, TF201 on 3.2.1 OC to 1.6GHz already can achieve 12872...
