QUOTE(digilife @ Nov 15 2011, 08:56 PM) okay your version is the lastest but i am stuck here when trying yours You'll need a flash lock code for your E1762, similar to the SIM unlock code. Let me see if I can't find anything in Google.[attachmentid=2537476] how now? Update: Just found that I still have the code generator, not sure if it's okay to post here. need fruitie to confirm. Otherwise, you can just send me your E1762's IMEI and I will PM you the generated code. This post has been edited by maxcheam: Nov 15 2011, 09:49 PM |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 15 2011, 09:56 PM) Er, flashed. Somehow, I have difficulty in using it with my router. it's time for you to get MR3420. Now direct plugged in, can't load Speedtest.net. Can revoke back to my previous firmware? Added on November 15, 2011, 10:06 pmWhy am I still seeing blue dashboard? No difference at all. Now worse I can't use my router anymore. Anyway, to get the green dashboard, you need to install the new dialer after flashed. |

the new dialer is called Maxis instead of Mobile Partner. I think you're still launching the old dialer. Look for Maxis shortcut.
anyway, i've just tested mine. No improvement from my end. will monitor further. |

i'm afraid not. did you flash both files that were suggested? if yes, you can try to flash again but only the first one (link from Maxis).

QUOTE(digilife @ Nov 16 2011, 06:18 AM) stuck at this FW and was not able to upgrade to 11.126.10.00.00(latest FW), maybe due to no unlock code (but this is an unlocked modem SIM lock and flash lock are two different things, my offer to generate the unlock codes still valid. Just send me your modem's IMEI. |

QUOTE(maxcheam @ Nov 16 2011, 07:48 AM) I still have older firmware and dashboard version from Maxis dated in 2010. I'm uploading it to one of the file servers now. Will post the link once the upload is completed. file uploaded, you can get it from here - http://www.multiupload.com/H32PF0MDRYinstructions should be straight forward: 1. flash the firmware first, should be the smallest size file 2. then flash the dashboard Hope it revives the E1762 for Aztech HW550-3G |

more tests on the new firmware with E1762. Found out that I can now get stable connections and similar signal strengths without my 3G Yagi antenna. Since the antenna only supports 2100MHz, i'm guessing that the newer firmware provides better connection to 900MHz towers.
chuah, more findings from you? you're the only person here who's got all kind of devices to test. |

Thanks for Chuah's previous sharing about the MDMA config to assign single band on modems, I'm now getting a much more stable connection.

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Jan 11 2012, 10:36 AM) A question, anyone tried using modem+TPlink 3420 in their car? I'm using TP-Link MR3020+SE Cedar in my car. Powered with just USB port. Especially those that travel a lot. I know it sounds stupid, but if I am going on a vacation, with a long car ride, i think its quite useful. Got it for RM90 only and it's the smallest full fledge 3G router that I have so far. Check out the unboxing photos below: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Jan 11 2012, 10:56 AM) @maxcheam in short phrase, it's a mini TL-MR3220 (without signal strength indicator). You can either use a USB modem or wired WAN (Streamyx, UniFi, hotel room's LAN, etc) as standalone or failover setup to share it with WiFi devices.Looks good, but is it suitable for 24/7 use? I know 3G router is it uses a 3G modem and acts as a router AP, i understand as well, it uses a WAN and acts as a router But what is WISP? Is it wireless repeater mode? Another thing is, because it is only powered by 5v 1.0A, will the USB port have enough power to juice a high speed 3G modem? It can be a bridge or repeater mode as it has WDS functionality as well. I believe WISP is the MAC Cloning where we will usually use it at hotel rooms or ISP (eg: PenangFON), which will only serve Internet access to the MAC address registered with their network, to connect more devices. As for the power, I don't have a measurement tool to check the exact power output for the USB port on the router but I can tell you that it is sufficient to charge my SE Cedar (increasing the percentage of the battery indicator) while connected at HSPA speed with WiFi clients. I'd say that it might lack the power and performance of it's bigger siblings as it's meant to provide the benefit of portability and convenience. Thus, called the "Travel Router". |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Jan 11 2012, 01:39 PM) @digilife I'm supposed we don't need to worry about the power supplied to the modem as MR3020, MR3220 & MR3420 share the same 3G modems compatibility list. I'm sure TP-Link has fully tested it before releasing the MR3020. The thing is, the adaptor doesn't push the power, it's the device that draws it. The device is rated at 5v 1A, so 2A adaptor would just mean the adaptor runs cooler. Added on January 11, 2012, 1:48 pmlooks like TP-Link is launching another 3G router (TL-MR3040) soon. Based on the link below, it will be a battery powered. http://www.tplink.com/en/products/details/...model=TL-MR3040 This post has been edited by maxcheam: Jan 11 2012, 01:48 PM |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Jan 11 2012, 01:48 PM) Well, it depends. again, it depends on your usage and requirements. for a travel router, I don't think I will use 3G 24/7 with heavy downloads.Because increasing the power to a regular USB port will help stablise some modems. Generall its 0.5ma for a regular USB port on the computer. Some mobiles can be charged ~5v 0.3mA. Do note that the compatibility lists, the higher speed modems are usually not included. Or at least when I scan through I couldn't find any. The reason I bought MR3020 is for usage in my car (no need to rely on DC/AC converter) and MAC cloning when I stay in hotels. At home, I've 2 units of MR3420 for the serious "download". |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Jan 11 2012, 01:56 PM) Wah, 2 units somemore. lol.. whatever for? I mean, to add peer to torrents? hehe.. it's just a redundant set, just in case one fails. 24x7 leh.. I've 2 units of E1762 as well. The MR3040 looks better to me than the 3020. Thanks for the link. I think you'll need to wait for quite some time before MR3040 is available in Malaysia. I waited more than 3 months for MR3020. I believe we have discussed too much off topic stuff. Later kena marah by mods pulak. Stay on track guys and gals. Something to read: http://www.soyacincau.com/2012/01/11/in-si...ia-be-the-same/ Hopefully, we will be able to use this plan forever. But when the time comes, make sure we're ready for it. |

QUOTE(chuahcs79 @ Jan 11 2012, 02:04 PM) just put in more power to the 2100MHz modem,.. chuah, teach us how to add more power to the modem. when normally modem is inactive time, it will try to save power and swap to 3G tower for standby,.. so if u stuck at 3G tower meaning your modem is not getting enough power for you to jump over HSPA 2100MHz tower and hold it consistent enough before u get DC & kick back to 3G tower,.. speed using Huawei E270 2100MHz 7.2Mbps modem afternoon, not bad at all [attachmentid=2634623] |
