i can get this speed at my current area, whereas 3 mths ago i can only manage abt 800~900kbps (0.9Mbps)

400KB/sec is consider normal in this special maxis plan, some even up to 700KB/sec ~ 1.4MB/sec..   

i strongly believe yours is the "big chip" so no issue , however Chua's sim was the small chip , thus cannot use but he managed to kautim himself ...........

however, if your chip cannot use Icon505, sell it to me as i missed Icon505 dearly now

Best still Huawei E1762 at the moments because it very strong when MDMA beta 10 version can let you band config the 900 or 2100MHz,..unless Huawei have newer dual 3G band support like E372,. otherwise best is use E1762,..

as for icon 505, is very tricky,. sometimes u get UMTS 900MHz and sometimes u get UMTS2100MHz,..if u see UMTS in signal area, that mean u stuck at 3G tower,.. if u see HSDPA mean u are connected to HSPA tower,..

this is what u want to do if u stuck at 3G tower with UMTS in signal area since icon 505 dont support MDMA ,...

1) go to manual network selection
2) scan for network
3) select other network like celcom, digi, u mobile
4) let it wait and pop up message with not allowed,
5) select automatic  again in network selection
6) then it will auto kick you back to maxis HSPA tower direct ( see the HSDPA on signal area )
7) connect away and enjoy high speed of HSPA,..

if your maxis sim dont work with icon, then u have to walk in maxis centre with the icon 505 modem and the sim, let they solve for you.... 

HSPA = HSDPA ( D = download ) + HSUPA ( U = Upload )

HSDPA = can up to 7.2Mbps ( as maxis claim )

HSUPA = 2~3Mbps as in my area with maxis
HSDPA = high speed download only, with 384Kbps upload
for 3.6Mbps modem mostly all is HSDPA
UMTS = 3G 384Kbps speed,..
so now u see clear view ? if u stuck with UMTS in icon 505 meaning u are connected to 2100MHz 3G tower instead of 2100MHz HSPA tower,..

so any advice for my problem~? all my multisim also is the small gold chip one... but cannot connect

He did say all his supplementary sims are small, which means he should either be the simcard a/c holder or has access to the a/c holder.

But yes, only the a/c holder can go maxis service center.

@Jack - what config did you do?

you are using Hotlink rite, tat one tarak issue one, only Multi-Sim , anyway Professorie Chuah have all the info regarding simcard structure, ask him

A question, anyone tried using modem+TPlink 3420 in their car?
Especially those that travel a lot.

I know it sounds stupid, but if I am going on a vacation, with a long car ride, i think its quite useful.

308 is UMTS2100 only.
310U is UMTS900/2100

If bands are not an issue, go for UMG1861, ZTE MF691 or some other 21mbps modem. Even the 308 is 21mbps right?

308 UMTS2100 will work with celcom 3G, no issues.
All GSM/UMTS carriers in msia support UMTS2100 if I am not wrong.
