Just want to clarify a bit here. This Maxis HS 3G only applicable for postpaid right? Those people with prepaid can only connect 3G broadband. That is the difference, correct?
*
so so correct

our thread here states Maxis HS 3G is basically a postpaid value added service which no more available for new users.. it is called Unlimited Internet = RM99/month
this plan is truly unlimited without any quota whatsoever... most of us use it at an average of 5-20GB per month without worrying about being throttle

those nowadays on postpaid.. u can use Mobile Internet Plans or Value Internet Plans but after the quota is reached.. u need to pay per usage basis

those on prepaid also have Prepaid internet & Mobile Internet Plans to choose from

if you worry about paying extra (RM250 max charged) to your bill.. then opt to the Maxis Wireless Broadband plans... these plans will not charge you after you reached your quota.. but your speed will be throttle.. you can get back your speed by buying additional quota or booster package through mylaunchpad portal or by calling Maxis CS

i strongly believe its the simcard chip problems

show us here your simcard and i can tell you the reason

i believe your simcard is the "small gold chip" and not the main MS(big gold chip) yours should be a "newer version"  supp multisim rite?  icon_idea.gif

Yup all my multisim is small chip.. only my main line is big chip... adoiiiii so my modem? Aiyaaaaaa

I think this link will help you with the E173
http://3g-modem.wetpaint.com/page/Huawei+E173

You need to open the back cover, check near the imei for the suffix on the E173, it will then tell you if there are bands 900/2100 or just 2100.
*
if E173u-1
ooo 2100only
never thought got diff suffix will have diff freq support

now i know whistling.gif
