Say anyone knows what happened to DiGi's Happy Pack no frills service last time?

Malaysian version went dead but the plan made its way into Thai market and thrived. *jokes.

well not much ideas about that, i think that plan went off quietly since response is not that good,. plus Digi product is poor in coverages, speed is the slowest one among all other telco,..

When Happy was launched in Malaysia, it wasn't about data. It was about the cheap calls. RM 0.99 for 45 minutes call to anywhere (within Malaysia) or any telco. Then, somehow they were making a loss profit. So, decided to have some caps. Right after the plan revision, I didn't bother to keep it anymore.

Of course. That time wireless broadband wasn't blooming yet as the phones we were using weren't as good as these days. Data was not something everyone can afford, back in 2008. smile.gif
Once smartphones started to grow rapidly, the users need data to make use of their phones, stay connected all the time. Hence, you can see the war in every telco. biggrin.gif

Happy's introduction was solely for cheaper call rates. I must admit I have talked a lot during that time. I was in fact one of the most active Happy users on LYN and started a few versions of Happy thread.

Those were the days. smile.gif

Here's another info about Thai wireless broadband.

Their standard throttled speed after exceeding volume cap is 384kbps.

It is not implemented yet in initial phase for True Move H at this moment so they are getting TRUE unlimited downloads for 42mbps until officially launch.

http://www.dtac.co.th/page/?id=252

RM79 for 5GB plan.

RM100 for 7GB plan.

Subjected to 384kbps throttling after volume exceeded.

The average speed with their 42mbps service is like this:

14.4mbps modem -> ~9mbps
21mbps -> ~13mbps
if use a real 42mbps DC-HSPA modem -> ??

I must search the web to find out anyone there tested a 42mbps modem with the service.

Yeah, midnight will reach 4 to 5Mbps. Considered good, most of the time around 2.5-3Mbps. Good enough for me. biggrin.gif
I'll use this opportunity to do whatever that I like, been working like a mad dog for few months and I seriously in dire of proper rest.

I don't think there will be any miracle, just hope there is no surprise for me during peak season. Usually during long holidays, PD is packed with people from everywhere. Hence, network congestion. sad.gif

same like penang here. i guess many people is back here and my speed is slow down,. LOL,. due to i connect to 900Mhz and is very far tower than 2100Mhz,. 900Mhz cover more area and that's why speed is slow,. but anything between 2.5~3Mbps is actually enough, since most of the thing i do need 1~1.7Mbps speed only,.. anything more of course is good la,..

1 channel max out about 11-13mbps
2 channels we should see something close to double.

That's how DC-HSPA+ works - combining upto 2 channels for more speed.

LTE will make use of better technologies to increase speeds further.

That's why DiGi said that the 800-900MHz will give better experience to users.

Better means stronger signals, more consistent speeds and better coverage.
