Has anyone have experience with blank white keycaps? Do they get "dirty" easy?
*
from my last time experience, there turn brownish or yellowish in time . that the reason I skip white mostly.

I know you cant give comments since you dont own one, but you can at least be more friendly to him, not splash cold water into his face, maybe he's trying to know the board before making decision whether to purchase or not and you ask him go buy and test himself.... think in his shoes and you will feel offended as well....

The second part, i also know he's in the wrong thread, but i also suggested him to go to the gaming keyboard thread since G510 is not a mech keyboard... (just that i forgotten that he can also asked in logitech thread.... sweat.gif )

I know you're an honest people and someone who speaks his mind, but what i hope you can do is, make your approach friendlier, that's all...  wink.gif
Wa..... your keyboard is becoming franken-ish..... but the "digital camo" theme on your casing is kinda nice  laugh.gif

heya, guys, does anyone of you interested in Doubleshot Devlin Keycaps? I have just recently contacted Devlin and received replies from them.

we can manage our own group buy in here. i will organize one soon on Geekhack and deskthority.

Their Keycap are significantly better than Signature Plastic. but do beware that they will be much more expensive due to thicker keycap mold as well as better quality.
Pictures provided at below.

Devlin Q Series, they are Low Profile, available in Laser etch, Double Injection, and Blank.
Devlin QS Series, Stepped version of Qseries, Low profile, available in Laser etch, Double Injection, and Blank.
[attachmentid=2556749]

Devlin K Series, they are High Profile, available in Laser etch, Double Injection, and Blank.
[attachmentid=2556750]

Devlin J Series, they are Medium Profile, available in Laser etch, and Blank
[attachmentid=2556751]

if anyone of you interested in US ANSI Layout, and can be fitted on Filco, Ducky, or any keyboard that is using US ANSI Layout, please tell me. i'm planning a Standard kit keycap set (144 keys?).
Still in planning phase thou, will open a interest check(IC) thread in both geekhack and deskthority soon for checking interest.

The main part worries me now will be the bigger keys, like spacebar(will try ask them to make space bar mold that could be able to fit both filco and leopold, a universal space bar), Shift keys and modifier 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2x. not sure if they have the molding equipment for it thou.

i'm interested in their K Series, high profile double injection, damn sexy  brows.gif  brows.gif  brows.gif

QUOTE(Akiyo @ Nov 28 2011, 10:53 PM)
Thanks for the quick response.

The person who introduced me to the mechanical KB scene is a Cherry MX red user actually, but i didnt know Cherry MX Red refers to a series of switch mechanism, instead of a certain Brand as i thought.

From the looks of it, i will be avoiding any Alps. I am thinking Cherry switches would be nice.

Does the actuation force actually mean anything other than the strength needed to push the key? Like say, in general, a lower actuation force means quicker input from finger to keyboard because less strength is needed?

Oh, and i am a little confused between Tactile and Linear. But for now, i frequent games that requires double tap, so Cherry MX Black is appealing to me the most for now.

Oh, and what about Gaming company endorsed keyboards? Such as steelseries and Razer, do they do anything more or they are just the same in general?

Generally, the area i am living is horrendous in terms of finding PC related stuff. Most shop doesnt even carry mouse pricing at RM15 above. The only good source is Klang's The Store/Shaw Centerpoint, where theres a shop that carries mostly everything available.

Hence, if said keyboard is widely available withins reach, instead of needing to rely on a online purchase, it would be a even bigger plus.

The nearest to check up is low yat if u stay at klang (subang mordeno got sell but not sure there got sample for u to test or not). Well the force itself is depend on u comfortable level of using the switch. If u want compare go try ur fren MX red, IF MX red give u feel too light than u can go for black switch which need more force. Than MX red is almost identical to MX brown in term of force needed but MX brown is tactical switch that u will heard and feel "click" when u press the key in between (some ppl like this feel some not)

In term of brand mostly are feel same if using same switch but different is Quality, material and extra feature offer by the brand. If u not need blink blink stuff like light, Audio port or USB port a regular model is fulfill ur need.
If u plan to buy at shop the brand available will be

Filco
Razer
Steelserious

Which 3 brand price their KB aroound 400-500 if u looking for cheaper alternative find our forumer cyclonechua for leopard brand which price around 3xx and storm88 for ducky brand.

Hope this help.

RM250 is including shipping from US, the shipping fees is like USD$27, i don't order directly from wasdkeyboards, but i asked the bulk orderer from US to bring in for me.
*
ur agent kind of expensive ==
If base on my wife formula should be around

$39.99 + $4.73 USPS priority = $44.72 which is abt RM 166 than shipping from USA to MY

My wife normally charge around RM 30+- which is still less than RM 200 =="

Unless u used premium express may be i believe can reach RM 250 la ><

Nope. The keyboard is unusable to most.
The Tank is mainly for keycap and switch harvesting.
A friend of mine have this and still finding a way to use it.
The connector ports are HUGE like printer connectors of the 90s

With that kind of budget get local is better.

Tabao is for looking budget entry lever which price below 300

if you looking for budget entry level try look for 网际快车 G100 for black or blue switch , g200 for red or brown switch
