QUOTE(CANONPIXMA @ Dec 11 2011, 10:19 AM) guys, i wanna ask.. mechanical keyboard is softer to press compare to normal keyboard? or vice versa? Mechanical keyboard have different swith which require different strength to press. Refer 1st page for different type of switchSo far from among user experience Cherry MX Red give softer experience compare other switch but this is depend on user one. Black switch is harder one but still a lot of user feel comfortable with it |

QUOTE(CANONPIXMA @ Dec 11 2011, 10:44 AM) i saw the 30g,50g thingy.. for membrane keyboard like my g510, how many g is the button? wanna try 1.. see how it feels regular membrane used around 55g +- depend of design. But advance of mechanical keyboard is it fast activate compare to membrane because membrane u need press till btm only the key will activate but mechanical switch not need to btm up also will activate already you press like 2mm like that only, so when u 1st time used it with membrane typing style you will feel tired cause u will auto keep btm it but when u already get used to it, u will auto not to btm it and make typing very comfort already.Like me i am black switch user, when i 1st time used my Keyboard is like typing machine cause i keep btm it and finger feel very tired after some time. After few month of using, currently i type with less btm it already which make my keyboard have less sound already compare to first time used. The 1st part u find the different of mechanical keyboard will be the part where the key return to it position after press is very quick/solid compare to membrane. Not sure about other but that my 1st experience when i start used. |

From my experience of selling product of this kind coating. There won't rusted in short period but most of them get dirty in 1 or 2 year because of dust and sweat.
If you want maintain the Shining you have to always Polish it. |

QUOTE(Cyclonechuah @ Dec 20 2011, 03:54 PM) The problem of electroplating is that, the process plating the metal with zinc. Which is Zinc serve as a protection for the metal. When Zinc plating wears off over time. when the metal will start to The only thing that made from zinc that I know last long is my home town kitchen plate wash sink that already 24 yearBut currently now, MKC metal keycap is made from Zinc Alloy. So i'm kinda confuse, Will they last even longer than normal metal which only has thin layer of electroplating. |

Rusted sure will not happen but how long till The black stain pop out which regular happen around such coating is the main concern.I gonna use it like crazy and without wiping the keycap, my place also damn humid, metal stuff get rusted quite fast over a few days. i gonna test this for a month seriously, i have my same doubt as you human10. really scare tok kok sing song. plus the fact that he answer my question in a "not very natural way" |

QUOTE(CyntrixTech @ Dec 24 2011, 12:57 PM) Don't know what material is used on the cap. What keycap works for me? White/Black otaku that will never fade. May be you can try pbt material key cap so far most people say it not that easy go fad compare regular8 abs type. But problem is font printing that you need to chose. So I heard of dyesub and laser print on pbt only. |

QUOTE(Cyclonechuah @ Dec 24 2011, 01:42 PM) Honestly, you need doubleshot keycap, seriously, you need it. From my own pbt green key cap, it is light dark burning from laser. Not sure about black pbt. If you use the keyboard alot, i would advice you not to get White Keycap, it's been majorly pain in the ass for me, when i use PBT White Engraved Keycap. Damn, the keycap becomes alot dirty. Plus, i donno wtf insect, The insect always fly to my white Keycap and begin to "pee" on my keycap, making yellow spot that cannot be wipe off, need to take the keycap and wash and brush with tooth paste.(like brushing your teeth morning and night). Yellow spot are pain in the ass to remove honestly. Btw, i order additional few sets of Old Doubleshot Cherry Keycap from Taobao, i'm expecting them to reach January, i'll post some picture when i receive them. might as well share them with some keyboard enthusiast here that have not collect doubleshot keycap set before. I'll clear up some misunderstanding here. ABS Material Font Printing Available Method - Pad Printed, Laser etch, Doubleshot. ABS cannot use Dye sublimation method, because they would melt/deform in the process.(due to plastic nature that does not have high temperature resistant) But they do have a advantage of Doubleshot injection method because of their heat resistance is low, making it much easier to work with. PBT Material Font Printing Available Method - Pad Printed, Laser etch, Dye sub. PBT cannot use Doubleshot Method, because they are too hard to work with, and the fact that they have high heat resistant, as well as unpredictable shrink when keycap cool down. It's a shame that PBT cannot use Doubleshot, but they still has the privileges of being able to have Dye Sublimation Printing Method. But it's also making them one of the most expensive combination(expensive material + expensive printing method = you pay for the "EXPENSIVE") But if you wanted to strictly talk about Keycap Durability, Doubleshot still takes the trophy, mainly due to the key that they have higher contrast and much more durable printing than Dyesub, If keycap has become Shiny, you can just use a sandpaper to get back the texture you wanted. But you cannot use the same method to PBT Dyesub, mainly because of their Dye printing Penetration is not deep enough to allow you to do sanding to get back the texture, if you do sand with it, the color will slowly loses the contrast, and finally faded ultimately after 2~8 years of usage.(Dye Sub Printing heavily depends on dye penetration on the keycap, if it's deeper, it will last longer) For Laser etch method, both ABS and PBT can be Laser etch, but the difference is that, ABS will have White Color Font(Burnt Mark) from Laser etch. But on PBT, it is also because of their high heat resistant, They took a bit longer, and have Yellow/Gold Color Font(Burnt Mark) (they are from my speculation and from what i readed, if someone has more accurate information, please provide it) There is also some information regarding to ABS plastic, that they have mix some chemical/material into ABS plastic in order to make it's laser etch to have White Color Font. (i forgot i where i readed this information) And wasd keyboard their laser only can do black print on other color key cap but white on black. I got try ask white on blue abs but there can't do it. I plan to order blue engrave abs from them on Jan |
