i bet many will say im an idiot for spending that amount for a razer tongue.gif
btw how to check for defects or quality problems in a mech kb. any specific methods?
*
Check key by key to see if all key working. Take note if any of them feel/sound weird when pressed.
Take extra note and check on those bigger sized keys with stabilizers beneath it.
Check your "Alt", "X", "C", and "Spacebar" to see if any sticky keys caused by remaining plastic mod on it.

can someone tell me where to buy ps/2 to usb 5 pins din adapter? not the 6 pins mini-din?

I can't brain what the exact thing you want, any picture?

You mean the AT(5pins din) to ps/2? Then ps/2 to USB?

keyboard never need to pay tax... shocking.gif

May be they take it as sales tax? Or probably "luxury tax"(cause the thing worth over RM300)?

QUOTE(wilsongunawan @ Feb 22 2012, 02:01 AM)
yeah. i mean is the at connector.. anywhere i can buy it?
*
You can get this from LYP(a small shop at 2nd/3rd floor, details forgot already...) at around RM6.
user posted image

While you can probably get this thing at most IT stores at around RM15(seriously overpriced while it only cost few RMB in China and I got mine at a local China goods store for RM4)...

thanks.. i really need it for my siig minitouch with the rare monterey alps..^^

Do note that the ps/2 to usb adapter is having some problem in using. It is function such way that when you pressed multiple keys, if you release only one, all of them are being released. Some ppl also suggest that it isn't suitable for use with gaming where need to press multiple keys.

BTW, I just saw it at LYP AllIT just now at less than RM10(black color).

fedex did send me a message stating the tax price. but that's all, no further details. i do enjoy the keyboard now. take this time as a lesson
see how long my satisfaction last tongue.gif
btw anybody selling key cap puller?
*
I suggest you only use the steelwire style key caps puller for it as those O-ring type will worn the coating on keycaps.

It even works for Rubber Dome keyboard  as well hahahha
*
Rubber dome(except coated/scissor switch), I will suggest the ring type because rubber dome board usually hold quite tightly to the keyboard and need a quick and powerful pull(or ply).

Sorry for my ignorance but is it really hard to find a shop and test it there in Malaysia?
*
Even if you can find it, it also most probably limited to black and blue switch(SS7G and also Razer BW).
All other switch are consider rare in Malaysia in term of sale market and even rarer to find open box/sample unit to try on...

Guys, 2 days ago heard bro Edifier mentioned that the price of Filcos are dropping, but so far i see the price list at modernopc and CEX there not yet change....
when will it be in effect??? hmm.gif  hmm.gif

Probably when the time the rate get back? whistling.gif

Seriously I find that Malaysia's PC market is screwed and being neopolised by those retailers.

I ytd go LYP and almost faint seen the price of HDD. Despite being almost half a year after Thai's flood, the price still sky high... rolleyes.gif

Money is no problem, Ive done my homework and I know exactly what I want to collect - highly tactile, hard to the fingers, clicky noisy MKs.

I do not play games at all with the keyboard and dont need all those fancy high tech stuff (I already got the Ducky 9008 MX Blue yesterday and its now stored away for the dust mites).

That's why Im asking if there are any places in Malaysia to try as many switches - else I will just end up buying and storing it away after a few clicks.

Now, I do welcome your offer to send me the numpad - it will be like a portable place to try the clicks, right?

Many thanks.

Can you show me the way to more buckling spring? or any kb that can make me feel awake - makes lots of noise as I type?
*
buckling spring should be the best option to try for.
Unicomp are the way to go if you don't want old boards.

Yes. I just bought the Unicomp SpaceSaver from member willaw yesterday. Using it now, thats why I want to buy more like this MK. The day before I got the Ducky 9008 Shine MX Blue but dont like - too soft and not loud enough

Any more suggestions and recommendations?
*
According to your request and interest, thats why I suggest Buckling Spring(Model M) probably the best option for you. It should be hard enough and with the most natural clicky sound coming from the buckling of spring itself.

May be you can try to get those vintage Model M if you find Unicomp still not well-built enough.

@ricstc

Try to ask storm88 about the Ducky Green ALPS.
They are clicky, noisy and a tad lighter than MX Blues. The trade off is that the build quality is not good, and the keycaps are a little bit wobbly.

Also, there's a new Cherry switch in town.
Cherry MX Whites (modern) - No keyboards coming out yet, but if you are feeling adventurous, you can buy some and mod.

Also, you can consider trying out Topre, but I don't know if anyone would allow you to try them out, even if you are willing to make the trip:
Since you know where I am, it's rather impossible for you to try out mine.
*
You mean Cherry white? The one with white stem and black clicky stem/leaf? It should be an old/vintage/extinct switch existed long ago(suggested by some ppl).
It isn't exactly the same blue/green switch stem, but rather with clear stem(i mean the bottom part of the stem), thats what keep me interested... hmm.gif

what is the difference between this and the clears? Im confused by these two... last time when they address the clears, they called it clears/white, so now got this standalone white??? does it have any difference compared to the clears???
Ayam confuzed...... rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif
wa.... the color selection, is very "unique".....
LOL, you remind me of 9gag regarding generation nowadays.... /hint justin bieber gayness endhint/

There is 2 types of white/clear colored switch out there. Ppl in GH seperate them by calling one clear(the one we always seen so far) and another one white. The white switch is it's own kind of switch and is clicky(and should be ligther).
