Ah, so the BW is the blue switch. It was my first time trying on a mechanical keyboard, and kinda like the BW. But as usual, Razor stuffs is err... overpriced... and this is one of their first mechanical keyboard which is why I'm asking for suggestions for the other expert brands in mechanical keyboard.

I use my keyboard for typing most of the time... rarely game much nowadays, blue switch should suit me? or should I be going with brown instead?
Nice, will consider this biggrin.gif. How's the quality, build etc?
*
if you mostly do typing, then blue switch is the switch to go, if you have a mix of light gaming and some typing, browns or reds are also acceptable.
but blues are famous for its sexy moaning sounds (according to a certain someone laugh.gif )and browns are more silent, reds are most silent (unless you bottom out) as there is no bump....

brand wise, FILCO, Ducky, LEOPOLD, CHERRY, DAS.... cant go very wrong with them, difference is just the stabilizers, FILCO, DAS using costar-styled wire stabilizers, while Ducky, LEOPOLD and CHERRY uses the proximity satelite switch style stabilizers... laugh.gif laugh.gif

Finally FC700R listed at Leopold website rclxms.gif
Comes in :
Black/Gray/White

Lovely case design. I prefer this right angle type rather than the rounded edges.
The miniature blue legends on the side is lovely compared to the in your face kinda legend for the the Noppoo keyboards

i don't particularly looking forward for backlit stuff, and about transparent keycap being rare. I mean for now.

Since those thing are slowly growing in this market and getting more and more common, why pay premium just because the stuff is rare for now, and slowly getting common and cheap in future.(example : keyboard with backlit)

Well, it's just my point of view thou. Because sooner or later, modding will be getting common and easier with guides and stuff. and KBC keep pumping out all kinds of keycap and going on for further mass production.

For me, i'll sit and cross my finger, and wait for the ultimate keycap that is suitable for backlit.(i don't want the current transparent keycap with coating seriously >_>, They don't last long in my usage. )
*
LOL... this i wonder need take how long for it to become common......
but right now except pure translucent keycaps, others are all coated.... and you mentioned that they dont last long in your usage, you have sweaty hands? hmm.gif

just envy those of you who already can go full out on touch typing... me still need to peek at the keyboard from time to time when i spammed the wrong key >3 times.... cry.gif

but frankly, i need the shortcut legends on membrane keyboards more than the legend of the keys themselves... LOL
Eg. at the side of C keycap, have the COPY legend, V = PASTE, I= Italics and etc.... abit restless when think that once migrate to mechanical keyboards, then no more such "hints" sweat.gif sweat.gif

Is there any mech KB with red switches and back lit. Preferably a full board and not someting like CM Storm Rapid Fire. Super undecisive between red and brown switches. If not I'll just settle for a brown switch Ducky Shining.

@cyntrix PM sent

Ducky Shine also have red switch + backlit, you can choose different colored backlit LED as well....

LOL... but there is another possible "liquid" or rather, "fluid"... me people who sweats alot like myself... the sweaty little hands.... how to prevent that?
My sweaty hands' sweat level is... if the weather is quite hot, say, like nowadays, after around 20-30 minutes of typing will make the keycaps as if it's shiny... lol... artificial shininess.... doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

Normal to be found on those YLJ I mean 2nd hand TG3 BL keyboard. Those keyboard are built to last and used in police car IIRC.

BTW, those membrane will make the Cherry Black too stiff to be used. IIRC, someone proved that the actuating force of Cherry Black with such membrane is over 100g... I rather use those silicon keyboard protector normally used on laptop keyboard, can dampen the sound and help prevent bottom up easily too.

wanna ask, can ask the agent to choose which courier? because according to chinese folks in China forums, 顺丰seems like a more preferred courier.... many give positive review that it is fast and the packaging is very sturdy....

QUOTE(Human10 @ Jan 8 2012, 06:44 PM)
Just found out that SS7G, Leopold, Zowie, Noppoo Choc Pro PBT, Keycool and KBC PBT spacebar are all the "nonstandard" one.

Now they no longer the loner with nonstandard spacebar, instead FILCO and Ducky become the loner(cause they are the minority(by number of brands)), LOL....
*
lol... that means, the spacebar on 7G, Celeritas, Noppoo, Keycool and KBT all become the new "standard"????
Btw, i thought KBC's PBT spacebar is universal? hmm.gif

not sure, but usually what i can see on the packaging are 顺丰,圆通 these two.
as for the spacebar, noppoo spacebar doesnt fits on 7G or PLU or Leopold or PLUM

LOL... meaning this "non-standard" is doesnt fit any other keyboard other than itself??? This sucks.... they should make it standard.... then less headache when wanna buy keycaps.... doh.gif doh.gif

New white PBT noppoo spacebar should have all the key stems in the world.

Shipping within China
As to shipping within China, since most agents are Guangzhou based, in normal situations, most courier services are alright. More common are 圆通 and 申通。I previously was sent a package from a less known courier company, posted in the morning, arrived in the afternoon.

For non Guangzhou Shipments, most courier services will take 2-3 days, Sunday included. Seems they don't have rest days. For 顺丰,most of the time you can get it in 1-2days, but they cost quite a lot more than normal services.

China to Malaysia
As to shipping from China to Malaysia via air, there are a few courier services, but I share the experience I have.
For cuckoo express/DPEX, they used to take a while, about 2 working days from Guangzhou to reach kastam, but recently it has shorten to 1 working day.

In terms of shipping inside Klang Valley is concerned, both are good. But for non klang valley, ABX really did a good job recently. The item reached me the day after it was released from kastam. For Skynet, usually an extra working day is needed.

oh.... thanks for the info....

Not sure if anyone here care but according to Cherry themselves, Cherry 3494(MX RED board) seems to be "trolled" by Cherry. tongue.gif

They put black spring in modifier keys and clear spring in spacebar, yet maintaining the RED stem. rclxub.gif Really like a troll(a good way?) and they never mention above it(in marketing).

May be this is the marketing style for a famous OEM?

It cost 10RMB each, bundle the whole 37keys for 270RMB(mean 7.3RMB each)

Added on January 11, 2012, 2:24 pmTo anyone who are interested to collect Devlin keycaps(for collection purpose, cause the profile is not suitable for modern board), here is quite the cheapest I can find. The 70+ Cherry Brown switches are also whole new, good for those who in need of harvest.
http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=8586204510

However, do note that the shipping weight is OVER 9000!!! over 2kg-3kg... If possible, ask the agent/seller to dump the casing and send only keycaps and PCB...
*
oh.... so this is one of the moments of "dont judge a key by its looks?" laugh.gif
anyway, a pleasant surprise i suppose? hmm.gif
but from the looks of the underside of the keycap, seems like the coating is not uniform... will "peel"?

@cyclone, i think use manual sanding will be very difficult to achieve the texture from sandblasting, similar concept to gunpla modeling when you do brush paint and spraypaint... the texture and uniformity is different league...

now, 9008G2 PBT edition around RM420 only
