What about "Plywood"?
Is there a difference between "Plywood" and "Nyatoh Timber Plywood"?
They don't peel Nyatoh timber and glued it together become plywood.
They used Nyatoh timber veneer or some sort like that to glue on top of plywood, aka the surface only is Nyatoh not the entire plywood is Nyatoh.
Added on November 15, 2011, 9:39 pmMost furniture now is made of MDF, and some cheaper one can make from chipboard.
Chipboard has lower strength and more susceptible to water absorbent and also nailing and screwing is less secured than plywood.
Plywood also got many type, some made of palm tree and coconut tree which strength and durability is quite poor but significant cheaper than ordinary soft/medium hardwood of tropical tree.
But normal consumer may not know how to identify them, and mostly within the timber or plywood industry know very well, but due to the fact it is significant cheaper, many carpenter/traders like to use due to cost wise.
So make sure when buying plywood it is 100% tropical forest timber that made of soft/medium hardwood.

for wood panel
compressed wood
-MDF (made of wood fiber)
-chipboard (made of wood chip that being compressed/glued together)
plywood/solid wood
- timber being peeled piece to piece and glued/compressed at cross (90) degree to each other, can consist from 3 to 9 layers or even more, depended on thickness, can up to 1 inch thick
- solid wood, depended of what kind of species you want.
In ordinary sense, I rate it the sequence as,
solid wood - plywood - MDF - Chipboard
