QUOTE(idoblu @ Jul 5 2014, 07:54 PM) If high gloss surface, it usually means spray painted and since this is an expensive process, they will use MDF or higher. Some high gloss laminate like acrylic can also be pressure formed on MDF Melamine itself is a laminate, normally applied to chipboard. I see...but i been to furniture shop which sells low price, they also produce gloss surface on some wood which the wood like very low quality and it smells strong like spray paint. Lately i go to furniture shop, been seeing and asking, melamine do comes in form of compressed or chipboard ya? To choose the better quality chipboard wood, we choose by its weight or by knocking the wood is it? Correct me if wrong
