QUOTE(hong.lim88 @ Oct 29 2011, 11:00 PM) Hi, Can anyone tell me what are the different between Chipboard, Compressed wood & Melamine board? Want buy bedroom set & these are the material in the market. Some tell me there are no different between them; but the price differ quite a lot. Anyone use MIXBOX? Any feedback? TQ Chipboard is one type of compressed board (not wood). Melamine board is normally a melamine lamination on top of chipboard. Some chipboard is cheap because the lamination is almost same like paper. Melamine board cost higher because the surface is water proof.

QUOTE(hong.lim88 @ Oct 30 2011, 09:22 PM) But the price for melamine board's bedroomset is almost double the price of chipboard. Terrible not terrible at all actually if you compare their product side by side. Chipboard furniture is the lowest grade furniture and you need to avoid them IF you looking for quality product.

QUOTE(weikee @ Oct 31 2011, 06:34 PM) When you eat meat, which one is easier to chew? Chop meat or one single piece of meat? Solid wood and ply wood is still better. You are right. BUT, using solid wood to build modern furniture is way too expensive. So nowadays solid wood common use on dining table, chair, coffee table and etc. You hardly can find modern bedroom sets using solid wood.
