Thx for the reply Davis.. & LGS's long review. ( i am confused wif tos words)
It seems like the volume adjust need to turn up pretty high until 4 o'clock?!

Issit Anti-clockwise volume adjuster?!

looks like this is the right headamp for me.. I got many AA batteries left here!

Yup, the volume knob is kinda "reversed"

I just turn my PA2v2 downside-up with the screws side facing upwards and everything is as it should be....no volume clock confusion. Gary says it's fine anyway you put it. I am still into my 1st battery charge (Energizer 2500mW)

Regarding adapter for charging, just drop by Carrefour MV and get RM20 universal one which has the required 2.5mm pin

Cheers

This headphone amp designed to run with 1.2v x 2 = 2.4v. If the voltage higher, you can hear some unpleasant harsh in music (overclocking? Stupid frying CPU method rclxms.gif ).

I mean Normal AA batteries would supply around <3v while NiMH supplying <2.4v.
Don't you mean boost up the voltage doesn't you can get better sound.

Something related with signal path, I have to ask Gary why.

When the PA2V2's volume knob is turned clockwise this increases the amp's volume. The indicator on the volume knob does not have a standard orientation. The [potentiometer] shaft the knob slides onto has a certain shape that looks like the letter "D" and the opposite shape is found inside the volume knob. This means that the knob can only be put on in one way.
The company in Switzerland that builds these knobs could cut the "D" shape in a different direction but to do a custom order like this, they would require that I order several thousand pieces.
Because I cannot order in quantities that large yet I have to use their standard model.

Gary's word on the volume knob question. smile.gif

waoh... the volume knob got such theory one.. A new thing to a noob.

Dat's why these few days, i was wondering Mini EPH need to amp up wif two 9V batteries. AND IT DIED very faster than everyone 's review here.

Then wif 3V, i am really doubt on its Power up performance. Somemore can reaching almost 100 hrs. I just hope it can last 10 hrs wif a pair of AA batteries.

Btw, PA2V2 is not recommended to power up wif 12V AC adaptor?! I read from ur info bout higher voltage will causing distorted sound.

Thx for the answer from Gary.

I have no idea how's the mini-eph sounds but I heard some negative points from some of my usual customer.

Anyway, your doubt is extra smile.gif. We have many customer have proven that it can last more thann 100 hours and Gary's customer also same.

PA2V2 only need 2.4volt to power up and running, for DC input/charging only need 3v 0.2A. That's it. smile.gif

Student price for PA2V2? laugh.gif
Perhaps you can e-mail to Gary and ask him whether he got given any student price or not for his amp.

You better get an amp first then only change your source as the HP1000 not really performing well with normal phone jack outlet.

Get some audiophile CDs then only move forward looking for better sound card or may be you might move to a real HiFi setup.

COD and postage service will be same price. I thought you are in New Zealand for now? I can ask Gary ship to you at RM222 (which you can't any price cheaper).

PM me, I teach you how to to be listen to HiFi. smile.gif
