u mean Jimmy Davies? manager of amateur football club Waterloo Dock FC since 1963?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/liverpool/content/art...8_feature.shtml

older records was Fred Everiss (Wes Bromwich Albion) from 1902-1948

but then again, 25 years at a top club in the country (arguably the continent/world) and maintaining the level of play/trophy gathering...Sir Alex Ferguson has to be the first

Ronnie Wallwork pleads guilty to receiving stolen goods

Ronnie Wallwork, the former Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion defender, has pleaded guilty to receiving stolen goods, a court in Preston has been told.

His friend, Siobhan Johnstone, was acquitted of receiving stolen goods, but during the case it emerged that Wallwork is on bail awaiting sentence for breaking up stolen cars to sell the parts.

The 34-year-old, who had five and half years on the books of Albion after leaving United in 2002 and played his final league games for Sheffield Wednesday in 2008, was working at a Manchester scrapyard which came under police surveillance in an unrelated matter.

Johnstone, 34, of Newton Heath in Manchester, had sold the car parts on eBay, but the court heard that she had previously sold other items for Wallwork this way, including memorabilia from his playing days. After hearing the evidence of Johnstone, the judge instructed the jury to find her not guilty.

Wallwork, who made 19 league appearances for United, starting four of them, is due to be sentenced next month.
Source here. Anyone remembers him? I do, lol. Small, stocky and bald fella. Never made it big for Man Utd.

Manchester United make 'S' error with Sir Alex Ferguson tribute stand

QUOTE
user posted image

Manchester United officials have been left red faced after an error was made when the 'S' on the new Sir Alex Ferguson tribute stand was installed upside down.

Bosses at the Manchester club surprised Ferguson with the renamed north stand on the weekend when the United manager was being honoured for being in charge of the team for 25 years.

But it seems Fergie's employers weren't paying attention when the letters for the new stand were being installed, which has led to the 'S' in 'Ferguson' being placed upside down.

The error was spotted by sharp-eyed signmaker Stewart Neill, who told the Sun: 'The tail of the 's' is smaller at the bottom, that should be at the top.'

A spokesperson for the club said they were aware of the problem and it would be fixed 'as soon as possible'.

They better get their skates on, Sir Alex Ferguson isn't known for his patience.

Manchester re-United! Real star Ronaldo in line to make Old Trafford return

Cristiano Ronaldo is in line to make a sensational return to Manchester United - for Rio Ferdinand's testimonial.
Ferdinand will have been at Old Trafford 10 years next summer and a series of events will be held to honour the central defender.
High on the list of priorities is getting Real Madrid star Ronaldo back to the club he left in 2009 although nothing will be confirmed until after Euro 2012 and the London Olympics.

Ronaldo signed for United in 2003 and collected a host of prizes over the next six years.
He has won three Premier League titles, a Champions League, one FA Cup, two League Cups and a FIFA Club World Cup.
The 26-year-old also took home plenty of individual awards before moving to the Spanish capital for £80million in the summer of 2009.

If anything, Ronaldo has improved since making the switch to La Liga. Real won last season's Copa del Rey although they have struggled to keep up with Barcelona.
But Ronaldo scored his fourth hat-trick of the season at the weekend to take his tally in Spain to 103 goals in 106 games.
The Spanish top-flight leaders have Ronaldo tied down to a long-term contract but they could be open to letting him make an emotional return to Manchester for one night only.

the last part sounds stupid.
any player can leave their club for a testimonial game.
its like going for international.
nothing to do with contracts.
just manager/coach consent if his schedule permits.

This guy were highly rated b4 IINM, a bit disappointed when we sold him b4 really.

The Germans really have a knack on producing great GKs - Schumacher, Koepke, Kahn, Lehmann, Neuer comes to mind.

i think united should sell rio off!!! he is not contributing but create problems!!!

Sorry, that's a load of bull. He might leave on his term.We already bought a replacement for the future. He did very well against Pool and Sunderland. Even Vida dismiss any thought on his poor form

sorry, his service since 2002 is amazing. only in one or two season, he is having injury on his back. Vida-Rio still the best partnership in BPL, perhaps in Euro
