Ok 3 hrs screen on. With 40% bat life left. . 24/7 data.

Lowering brightness to 20% or less than30%
Significantly improves battery life

Lol for me no much difference between 800 n 1.2 lol. Both allow me to open up big excel n PDF file without lag. Dual core here we r talking about.

Yeap yeap . Significant reduction in heat production. I'm quite happy withmysetting now. Can very reach 4 hrs of screen on even more with single charge.
smile.gif thanks to pro here who made me pro to some extent

Simply because besides games (and even that is arguable), the 1.2ghz clockspeed is wasted on Gingerbread. The OS doesn't really know how to even utilize the dual core. And it definitely doesn't NEED anything above 1ghz. Not yet anyway.

GTA3 might push the limits though, but as it's playable on Tegra2, I'm guessing 1ghz would be enough for it too. Similarly ICS might make better use of 1.2ghz, OR it might even be even more multi-core friendly so we can actually UNDERCLOCK even more lol.

Right now, clockspeed is as much a gimmick as megapixels are, IMHO.

i was suprised initially when i downclocked da cpu, there wasnt much change to da UI fluidity ( to me no difference, lol). i can even feel sluggishness (very minimal) in htc sensation most likely due to sense..tw+gingerbread do not need 1.2ghz.. let alone dual core

where can i get nice bookmark widget for android that displays preview... I miss those widgets i had in n900

i suggest u read n watch video.. double intelligence is better than one..

google ChainFire root for sgs2..read thru.

video - gadgetcheck how to root on youtube

CF root is da easiest with odin..

Less than 5 minutes including removing yellow triangle part.. this is rooting process as downloading part would take longer unless ur internet speed is fast

ok... i think fb chat is giving u wakelock...erm try close all active chats .. or dun use them at all ..

juicedefender also givs u abit of wakelock...

is data on 24/7 with HSPDA... what's ur line? digi?
3 things that will drain battery on anyphone

1)bad signal, using 3g all da time
2) screen brightness
3)apps running background preventing phone from going to sleep..

here's a 'standard' u can folo.. assuming u'r on stock rom.. with fb polling background.. setting data to edge..

battery lever shud drop 1-2% per hour or 1.5.

Yeah, I'm using digi right now.
As for screen brightness, I'm leaving juice defender to decide it for me.

things u have to differentiate.. battery drop during sleep (screen off) vs battery drop during screen on (usage with 3g,dun include games..tey are born to suck battery) vs both

most of us here try to minimize the first... (priority 1)

screen on usage is highly subjective (things that can be controlled ...brightness set to below 30% disabling autobrightness, using EDGE instead of 3G)

changing da charging rate frm da kernel is rather unsafe in the long run.

assuming da circuit that breaks the charging is built on da main board (judging frm da ability to software tweak da charging rate) it's generally not safe to increase da current as the operating current is inversely proportional to the life span of some components

about the circuit - it functions to cut off any further charge to the battery(in other words, to prevent them from overcharging) china made batteries lack this circuit or have defective circuit, so they tend to swell up when overcharged..

Maximum current output for USB 2.0 is 500mA. since output is fixed, there is no way to trick da phone into taking more current. unless u use usb 3.0 (900mA) output

some portion of the current will be lost as heat, that's y battery heats up during charging. it actually decreases the charging efficiency therefore it is better if u place ur phone in cooling area while charging.
