AFR at 12 is rather rich to be exact. The AFR ranges from 8:1 to 20:1, 14.7 being the neutral, or 'balanced' state between the two ends. Maximum power of an NA engine is achieved at 12.5~12.8:1 AFR, so yes, 12:1 AFR is quite rich.
Burning rich could translate to many issues, one of them being the cat-con burning quickly.
Second, your FC may suffer.
Third, your spark plugs may also 'die' quicker, prompting an earlier than scheduled replacement.
Fourth, with all the unburnt excess fuel left over, you're wasting precious fuel (which in turns lead to #2 where your FC shoots up), and causes pollution (black smoke).
yes, all true i agree, but generally, tuners or engineers have to opt a to safer option, that is to make it richer at higher rpm. considering that, its better to foul the plug, spoils the catcon than have to rebuild engine that will make the owner suffer.
after all, you wont be driving your car at 6-7k rpm all the time, so its acceptable.

well... u`re right... saga blm 1.3 is using a 16 bit siemens ECU... VDO 2000...
Added on October 31, 2011, 8:12 pmLOL ! Bro SiuYi... tak boleh lar... my blm behind got 12inch woofer... no space for NGV tank...

Just to share with u guys, first batch blm is using siemens vdo, then batches after that, some 2nd batch or later are using continental ecu, which is the same as siemens vdo.
i think the ecu is the same at least for 1.3 fl/blm but fl 1.6 / le 1.6 / taxi / flx im not sure, maybe slight difference in fuel mapping and ignition timing.
generally the difference not because of different company, but maybe different car models. Continental bought siemens vdo
