The maturity date for one of my FD with CIMB is approaching.

1. What happens if i am only able to attend to it later than the maturity date?

2. If i choose to renew, it will then be based on the new rates, right ie sign a new document etc?

Thanks smile.gif

2nd is still BR., rest rank lowere down my list.
fluctuate so what, it consistently gave me 4.0-4.6% last few years, even if at low(4.0), it is still higher than most others.

Bank Rakyat rates are all the same. The 3 diff fds are
1. Qiradh - fluctuating interest
2. Mubeen - Fixed interest.
3. Warga Emas - Fixed int only diff lower deposit

1 month - 3.26
3mth - 3.65
6 mth - 3.75
9 mth 3.85
12 mth - 4.01
15 mth - 4.05
and so on....

just remember above 50 k single cert can ask extra 0.05
*
Hi, what do you mean by lower deposit for Warga Emas? There is a maximum amount that can be deposited?
Also for the 0.05 extra, how do you go about it, just request from the bank officer at the counter?

Thanks

HI, I notice that Joint Account is listed under Mubeen, while none is listed for Warga Emas. My question is, can I open a Warga Emas Joint Account with my mom? I am not an old citizen, but she is. Thanks

A follow up to my query. Got a reply from BR, the applicants for Joint Acc can be both or either one having the age of 45 and above. And an additional of 0.5% from current rates brows.gif

Yeah, thats the reply that i got and i didnt even asked about the rates.
BR is kind to old citizens. They gave a pack of bird nest tonic (6 bottles) to their acc holders during CNY.

I transfered some fund For FD purpose using Banker's cheque and the bank staff said that it requires a few day to clear and I can only collect the FD certificate then. Time was around 3.30 pm. Is this the norm?

Which bank is this? Require customer to come twice. The FD cert can be generated on the same day, validity is subject to cheque clearance. The start date should also be the same date you went.
*
Bank Rakyat. The staff said that the starting date will be according to today's date, but I will check the cert on Tuesday to make sure it is correct.

The only proof I have for the FD deposit is a normal deposit slip stating the amount, FD period and date.

Refering to the AmBank promo, stated:
QUOTE
The additional of 0.10%p.a and RM 50 cash reward are subjected to a minimum spending of RM350.00 for Gold Card and RM500.00 for Signature and Platinum Cards within two (2) months from the card’s approval date.
For RM50,000 deposit, the 0.10% p.a. difference gives RM50 extra. Considering that need to spend RM350 or RM500 using the CC just to get this RM50 extra, looks like not worth it to go for the extra 0.10% right?
