Creezalird, i have seen your latest updated guide, awesome dude, really great work there !
I joined facebook group by the way, lots of info there.
I'm a little bit worried about ICS update, there are a few echoes (true/untrue who knows ?) of I9108 beta rom for ics, but so far, really nothing on I9100G.
I read a post on indian I9100G thread in XDA forum, apparently, new indian rom that fixes all issues with camera and sound, lots of people trying to get their I9100G exchanged by I9100.

So,what you're saying is that there's maybe a chance that ICS won't come to SG S2 G version?  shocking.gif
*
I honestly don't know if it will/won't come to I9100G, i'm saying that there is absolutely no trace of leaked ICS rom for I9100G, where many other models do have leaked rom, it's unlikely we'll get it at the same time than the international I9100, i might be wrong, i hope i'm wrong, but dev have completely been stopped on gingerbread for I9100, where I9100G continue to have new releases, this is not good, samsung team working on gingerbread instead of ICS to buy time ? I don't know, and Samsung said nothing officially regarding I9100G, they only said on the uk twitter that all Galaxy II variants will get it, not when ...
Official release date is Thursday, 2 days to be fixed whether or not Samsung will compensate its bad position regarding I9100G with an active development on ICS, what i know is they tend to ignore all complains about that model, saying it perform the same and so on, but they would be in a really bad position if they don't release an ICS update any time soon for this model, wait and see ...

want to ask if i rooted my s2, somehow there is a problem and i need to send for repair at samsung, can i revert(flash) back to older firmware and use the trick to reset the binary counter and the triangle?
*
Do you own an I9100 or I9100G ?
This thread is about I9100G only, and you can not flash I9100 rom on I9100G, also can not flash I9100G rom on I9100.

You will find all the instructions in this guide to reflash stock kernel usin Odin.
https://www2.dropbox.com/sh/jwiy13i80b4puwh...or%20i9100G.pdf

But question has been asked so many times, and answer is always the same, if you read a few pages back, other people asked for the same problem ...

You're welcome.
Then try to re-flash stock kernel using Odin.
Can't give you other advice than that and read the guide, Creezalird wrote it and everything's inside ...

And by the way guys, good news is I9100G ICS update has been confirmed to be planned, developpement has been started, only no release date at the moment.
I'll use one old thing to say that, think it was for quake or something like that :
"When it's done !"

Creezalird, just to make sure it's ok with you, i spreaded your guide on a dedicated galaxy s2 french forum, do you mind if i translate it into french ? You'll keep the credit for the writing, don't worry, just that they are kind of late on I9100G information, and it hurt my eyes to see people flashing insecure kernel to remove yellow triangle and so on ...

Mmm, yellow triangle is because of non official kernel.
Removing binary counter would only reset this one ...
I might be wrong, but i guess it's a 2 steps way to remove both ...

i am kind of not understand ur surprise here.

yes, we can flash kernel using various methods,

using odin, need in tar file (from ubuntu easily to make, from windows can be made using izarc, tar with no compression)
using cwm, in zip file (needs updater-script)
using ktool/cwm app/mobile odin pro, in zImage file (need rooted access)

so the problem is?
*
You just told the guy that he needed to flash superom with Odin, and i was more advising to flash it with CWM to avoid binary counter increase, correct me if i'm wrong, but with CWM you do not increase binary counter ...? Or i don't get the point going through CWM ...

me? superrom? i thought i never advised anyone on installing custom rom as i dont even use it myself

are u talking about superrom or superatmos kernel?it is different thing
*
My bad, in my answer i did confound both, superatmos kernel and superrom.
But still, i thought that flashing superatmos kernel and superrom through CWM could avoid the binary counter increase, apparently i was wrong on the kernel part ? Or maybe it is the contrary, i'm a bit lost on this ^^

Luwk, try a factory reset, it was said before, flashing the rom isn't always perfect, need to erase all settings, i'm unsure, but i think you can do that through CWM, Creezalird is experienced in that process, i'm not, you might want to wait his answer.

Please, all, register to cyanogemod forum, and vote, don't let this die, we need cyanogemod port for our I9100G :

I'm sorry i'm a little bit less present today, dinner with my boss tonight, and still have wife/baby/grandmother at home, and i'm actively following facebook group.

Creezalird, i did install Mobile Odin Pro, Titanium Backup Pro, in the process to backup everything, and it's quite long and painfull to be certain i don't forget anything ... where are the apps data stocked, like sms, calendar(no google calendar available), note and so on ?
Is everything in /sdcard or are there other stuff on root folder ?
I miss the /home linux thingy :'(

are u backing up the whole rom using TBP? it is recommended to batch backup only data app first, after that batch backup selected sytem app, like messaging, calendar and so on. As you are not requiring the whole system backup, just selected ones.

everything will be backed up to a titanium backup folder inside sdcard(internal) not external.
*
Oh didn't know that, can you backup system app data without the app itself ?

You are 100% correct. French version, unlocked BNIB and sealed.

A great tool but i feel uneasy to root without a jig. any workaround?
*
Despite the fact that i'm french, i'll answer in english for others understanding ...
The only workaround you have, is, as Creezalird said, downgrading your phone to rootable (using doomlord's method with "memory crash" stock room.
Then you'll have to use Mobile Odin pro with everroot to flash latest french rom and root it in the meanwhile with everroot (just a case to check on Mobile Odin Pro).
Then your phone will be to the latest version and rooted. A little bit tricky to do all that, but without the USB Jig, it's the only option to avoid triangle and binary counter increase.

Creezalird, it's not the first time that i read people having troubles to root once they downgrade, do you think it's also needed to flash old bootloader (not included in stock rom ?) ? Unsure about that ...

Conarlist, if you need more information in french, pm me, i'll answer as soon as i can, i'm not in France, but in China, 7 hours difference ...

I don't own an usb jig myself, and no Creezalird, i didn't have time to update my phone yet, moved 2 days for professional purpose, only came back today ...
With ICS update probably coming around the 15th, i'm not really in a rush to do an update now, even if i'm starting to feel the need for it regarding all the things those updates fixed on our G, i found out that my gps data was "naturally" stocked in /sdcard, i wonder if a wipe data erase that folder ? I didn't google for it yet tongue.gif

Samsung never mentionned which version of the Galaxy SII would be updated, and i think they did that in purpose, and the last information that came out in facebook's group or chinese forum is G was in the first batch.
Samsung's got a larger team than CM to developp on their own phone, it will be this month for sure, maybe tomorrow maybe later, nobody knows for sure, that's what rumors are made for tongue.gif
Fact is there is a lot of hate from newspapers and forums about G because Samsung introduced unofficially that version, and make things more complexe for devs around the world, that's why you read a lot of missleading information about our G model, which is many ways superior to the internation I9100, battery not heating etc ...
We lack the AA feature that mali do have but powervr don't, but apart from that, honestly, well ... We are compatible with everything, where I9100 games need to be compiled for Samsung's chip ...
Wait tomorrow, i honestly think we'll get the update, not everywhere, but some countries will get it ... But no proof to bring you here, only my very own 2 cents tongue.gif

Well we do think the same, i was actually thinking the downgrade don't downgrade the bootloader, but didn't test it, so it's just our thought ^^
Need more guys feedback to be sure ...
Oh can you answer this one, the wipe data do wipe the /sdcard folder ?

Thanks for your answer Creezalird, i didn't think it would be that easy to actually backup things, sdcard being untouched, only apps needs to be saved, indeed really easy, feel more comfortable smile.gif
I'll try to wait for ICS, but looks like i'm going to flash my g next week end whatever happen !
