the higher you extend the modem or the further away you extend the modem from your window, gets  you the better signal but bear in mind also the loss in signal due to the length of the cable too and USB3.0 cable will be able to minimise this as it have faster data transfer, even though your USB port is only V2.0, but if you hav V3.0 port, the better la........
*
totally agree,.. tested that too, works like charm, notworthy.gif

without able to see the model, i think newer firmware dial up time for usb modem like E372, E353, Icon 505 is faster than older firmware which can see the model name

Does the heat affects the performance, my 1043ND which having better spec also didn't heat up like this sad.gif
*
well i places it in a corner full of wind ventilation,.. never shifted it since then,.. never off it too at all,.....

i dont think it will have any issue of heat,.. of course u need to put it in good wind ventilation area or use a mini usb fan to blow at it all time

There's a guide on klseet webpage on how to install Luci interface from command line. Look it up:

http://klseet.com/index.php?option=com_con...=156&Itemid=134

but make sure you select the correct image for MR3420 don't follow that guide blindly and install WR941 image.

Or you can get pre-compiled trunk image complete with Luci interface and 3g usb modem support here:

http://openwrt.agromapia.com/trunk/unleash...hfs-factory.bin
*
any huge differences between that and original firmware ? hmm.gif

For normal user, tp link stock firmware should be enough, but if you're a geek, good in linux, like to explore etc, openwrt offers a lot more.

i see, thanks for your explanation, notworthy.gif

No people knows whether  TP-LINK want to release it

Since 4G support just need some change in the script for the connection protocol + drivers in the router
*
yea,. that's the current issue,. so finger cross hoping it will release,.. laugh.gif
