Quick one, is it normal for the MBP late 2011 DVD ROM to make a noise at startup? Sorry if its a dumb question, its just a niggling thingy with my otherwise perfect purchase.

Nice move bro, was planning to upgrade my macbook with a ssd as well but too afraid to fix it myself.

Did you do it yourself or installed from a shop?

This is my first time post here. I have a problem with my MBP i5. Today I inserted a small disc CD into my MBP. It not only was not detected but I also cannot eject the disc. Will be extremely grateful for any help in ejecting this CD.

Yup. It's an 8.5cm or ~ 3.5" diameter disc. Any idea how to eject it? sweat.gif

I tried the normal way by depressing the eject button. It doesn't help. Any other way other than shaking the MBP?

oh my, why are you inserting a mini cd into a slot load drive? well, anyway, theres a few successful stories about how to eject the mini cd out. it involves some extra (harshness involve) method to do. you can check it here

O-I-C. Well, I'll just give it a try and hope for the best. Tq for the suggestion.

Guess you know what? After I posted above post and was thinking of trying to gently shake my MBP, I took a peep at the DVD slot and to my surprise, I saw the mini disc ejected slightly out!. I took hold of a pincer and gently pull out the mini disc and voila, i manage to retrieve it out from the DVD slot. rclxm9.gif sweat.gif I guess I must be one hell of a lucky guy! rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif
