may i know where you open your PRS account?
is it there are charges of account opening of RM10.60 & annual fees RM8.48

if online? other than FSM, any other website provide such service?
i read in FSM FAQ, there are charges:

WHAT ARE THE CHARGES TO APPLY FOR PPA ACCOUNT?

A: For first-time PPA account application, there is a PPA account opening fee of RM10.60* which will be deducted from your investment amount.
Subsequently, an annual fee of RM8.48* will be deducted from your investment amount for subsequent investment on the next calendar year. *GST 6% included.

Select fund you want,  select DIY.  Put 100%. Done. You only need one PRS fund.  Every PRS fund will be charged RM8.48/year
*
Huh? RM8.48/ year for each fund?
if i have 3 funds, RM8.48 x 3 o...wa....
i thought RM8.48/year for 1 PRS account.

Then better buy only 1 PRS fund, top up RM3k/per year to get the tax relief.

Just go to www.fundsupermart.com.my

Follow instructions on how to open acct with them, and for prs. Yes they are agents, they operate online, of course you still need to mail them hard copy document for 1st time account opening for PRS. That's it. You can visit FSM thread, many will gladly help and refer you. They don't get any monetary benefit but it's a win win.

How can i know my PPA account number and password? will FSM send me an email notification?

Difference is timing. If you put in lump sum of RM3k and market tank, your whole RM3k affected. By spreading out your RM3k into smaller pieces, you sort of get the average price  biggrin.gif
*
But then still it is DCA method, different is DCA monthly or DCA yearly right?

since is to keep the $ roll until age 56, will have huge different?

cimb prs memang no dividend one... so if the price drop, then thats it.
i always tell my friends that the prs not necessary profit at the end as the price might go down
*
Since no dividend, any advise how to "lock" the profit? it is damn long term investment.

funny.. 'PRS no dividend = bad'

bought into something & yet dunno left pocket / right pocket of mutual funds / unit trusts issuing distribution (not dividends) = zero sum game..

Enlightenment can be found.
a. Here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4193169

b. Search for: 3. Common misconceptions about unit trust dividends/distributions:

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Apr 25 2018, 11:18 AM)
You do know dividend in unit trust is just marketing gimmick right? It does nothing. Left pocket exit, enter right pocket.
Have 2 PRS. One bond fund one equities. When you think hell gonna break lose, switch over to bond fund before it happens. Another alternative is buy more when market is red. Also it's until 2021, if after that no more tax releif, no need to pay attention to PRS anymore  biggrin.gif
*
I understood dividened is market gimmick, left hand to right hand. just wonder says our normal DIY portfolio, i will switch those profit to lover profit fund, while PRS i wonder how do i lock fund.

Ramjade, you mentioned about: Have 2 PRS. One bond fund one equities.
means to buy 2 types of funds, Equity & Bond fund, so do switching among this 2 to "lock" profit ya?
that so, need to buy from same fund house right? eg: CIMB

That I don't know as  I never experiment. After all my allocation inside PRS is very small. Not worth for me to try it out and as I mentioned PRS tax incentive is until 2021 which is only 3 years away. 1 year RM3k, 3 more years =RM9k only. So if no more tax incentive, then I just close my eye and don't look at it. If they continue the tax incentive, maybe I will think best way to protect my money  biggrin.gif

But yes, that's one way of protecting your money. Find the lowest volatility bond fund and put it inside there.
*
thanks for your explanation and valuable input. most of us invest in PRS is just for sake of tax relief only + RM1k incentive for age 20 to 30.
i started last year, bought 1 PRS fund, never know until today morning in FSM tread mentioned about we are allow to buy few PRS funds with only RM8.48 per PPA account (all the while i misunderstand RM8.48 apply to per fund). thus may change my plan to buy other fund to diversify it. RM3k still alot for me. biggrin.gif

It's RM 8.48 per PRS provider. If you have 2, then it's 2x RM 8.48. If you have 3, then it's  3x RM 8.48. As long as you topup. If you don't topup, you won't get charged.
*
QUOTE(Kaka23 @ Apr 25 2018, 12:07 PM)
my understanding is per fund (or is it per fund house).. if you have 2 funds, and that calender year you top up on both funds... kena RM16+GST. Coz I kena before..
*
i started get confused. i just read through FSM FAQ (attached), and yes 2 answers as mentioned above pop out in my mind + from LYN.

may later i try to search in PPA website.

Did you notice about this new function of PPA?

Top up available, while there are admin charge per transaction. RM0.53.

Will you utilize this function or back to your agent to top up?

I think to answer that, it's more like where do you want to consolidate all your investments. If you top up via PPA directly, I dont think it will be reflected in EUT or FSM's holding.

If you only have PRS as the only investment, that it makes sense to top up via PPA, and you can see all your holding in 1 page. But if you have most of your investment with EUT or FSM, then it makes sense to top up with them, so that you can see the other investments there. It's all about consolidation.
*
hmn, then another question. will the RM1k incentive reflect in FSM account? (i yet receive the incentive) just curious。。

You guys realised that's a RM165M allocation right?  Which is = 165k people only can get it.
Seriously i never acknowledge about this.

btw i found this: "Payment is made bi-annually after PPA submits their report, which is usually at the end of June and December."

Spoke to PPA, they said the payout will be this month. Everyone can get this in writing after writing in to them personally.

So it's not an issue about the allocated budget being used up.

Few more weeks to go till May is over.

Thanks for the update.
