When trying to check some of the PRS funds last night, I noticed PM Prs Growth Fund & PM Prs Islamic Growth also have large overseas exposure, particularly in US tech sector. Performance for 3 and 5 years also not bad. Apart from the high sales charge, what are the downside? If buy from PPA website instead of PMO, still kena the 3% charge?

Many years ago, .... read in one of the thread, ...
If you have min holdings of RM10k, ...can get their group Mutual Plus 2 insurance at lower than outside rate.

Not sure if you can get to hv it, if you buy thru PPA or if PM still hv it.

Thanks... I wasn't interested with any of the insurance though. Have not seen or hear any claims on those insurance.

I think, you will still kena the 3% sc if you buy from PPA. Bcos previously I read in PM thread, ...even though you buy DIY from their PMO online platform, ...you will still kena that 3% SC for prs funds. None prs equities funds will be more %..

Just not sure of latest info about SC

If that's the case, have to reconsider, every year performance -3%.

That SC (Sales Charge) is applicable only when you put in fresh fund.
No more SC for money already inside

Worth it if you can get 20%p.a as that's what you get by investing in the US.

If buy from PMO for sure kena 3% charge. I was thinking can buy directly from PPA, since during enrolment we have to choose a PRS fund to buy.
Maybe I should try once, if really get charged 3% then that's it.

Seeing from past performance, not reach 20%. but if can get 10% onwards after deducting 3% charge, me happy already.

Btw how much return you get roughly from Principal RetireEasy?

I think so far 8-10%?
You can check it out in
https://www.fsmone.com.my/tools/fund-selector

So far manage to beat or match EPF. That is my bare minimum.

If you hv already had 30k in there previously and early this year you put in 3k.
If this year the roi of the fund is 10%
You would gain ...
30k +3k X 10% = 3.3k minus 90 sc + savings from tax relief. ( higher your tax bracket, the more you will save)

So is that Rm 90 for Sales Charges, a well expenses?

If you doesn't want that 3%sc, ...try source PRS UT from other PRS providers or resellers. ...a few of them offer 0% sc instead of PRS UT funds from PM
