what is "costly" to u? give a number...

dont dismiss the b20 just coz its a b series....engine kosong is pretty cheap....can get as low as rm500..so full conversion shouldnt be too much....u should do abit of research first abt pricing etc before dismissing it....or mebbe even look into b18b conversion.

and i second the d16 suggestion...drop that in, add a vafc for better air/fuel tuning n u should be good to go

d16 is basically a 1.6 version of ur 1.5 engine...."no replacement for displacement"

B20B should be cheap... coz its a non vtec engine... ask around workshops price for halfcut + installation + endorsement etc etc etc...then report back here... coz im curious to know oso.

B16A, i wouldnt recommend it to u... coz it doesnt seem ur the kinda person looking for performance n wanna high rev all day and play with a manual....n since ur that kinda person... ur right... sell ur car and add to ur savings can prolly get a newer car.... so not worth it to plonk in a b16a for you

ur currently on d series... to convert to b16a... ur gonna need the entire halfcut.. coz only the wiring is useable from ur eg8,,,and even then, some extending will be needed.

gearbox etc all not useable already

if ur looking for performance... then yes... and of course get the manual

but if ur not after performance and just wanna drive ur car normally... then no

ur budget isnt really enough for both....and definitely not enough for halfcut too....

with that much money u could convert to manual using B16A or GSR gearbox with stock clutch.....and fix those leaks... those are easy fixes...

if ur concerned about the engine mileage, u could try and source for a B16A engine kosong...or perhaps get a quote for a B20B....

price is alright....but find out the gearbox codes....

avoid Y1, S1 and YS1... these are clutch cable gearboxes and are very old...the Y1 and S1 comes with a a low 4.2 final drive and 4.4 is the minimum u want which comes in EG n above gearboxes.

when u replaced gearbox...did the mechanic check the torque converter?

aircond buat hal.... the damn fan barely wants to move... gotta drop by jebon for a visit... hopefully its just the fan...

just spent 1.2k repairing the kenari's aircond....

never heard of any issues with the FD2 gearbox before coz i never really researched about it..

ubt the Hayden ATF cooler should be good...

yes... unfortunately these cars are getting stolen alot lately...civics are really hot items now...modified ones i mean... a few days ago 3 different civics were stolen in kuantan alone ON THE SAME DAY.... an EF hatch, EG Hatch and EG Sedan.... thankfully all 3 cars were recovered... 2 on the same day itself, and another was the next day with some parts missing....the EF was recovered after a police chase... although the crooks were not caught (for all 3 cases)

and lately it seems JB has had 2-3 cars stolen... no recovery yet.



anyway.....it also depends on wat u wanna do with the car and wat kinda engine etc u looking for.

even a standard sedan automatic is a good buy to me... as these cars are very reliable daily drivers with tonnes of new and used parts available practically everywhere with pretty good prices.

if thats ur usage... id wouldnt pay more than 38k for an EK Hatch with ViRS conversion with stock 1.5 or 1.6 engine and auto trans...stock standard bodyparts can get low 20s.
