i thought H/M is pushing their Phillips BDP-3200 which they claim can play ahem disc all the time without any problem??

this is what they told me at Ikano branch back in Sept2011~ hmm.gif

i guess they're pushing certain models at a time to move the stocks out. laugh.gif

Thanks.

Loading time definitely faster than my older BDP-S360. AQ not much concern if the processing part done by AVR as the AVR will determine the AQ. If the audio was just depending on the TV speaker, then there's nothing to talk about. As for the PQ, it's great to my eyes but I think it won't different much for those mass market blu-ray player.

I got mine bundled with Sony Bravia package but the RRP was RM999

Don't bother with Sony Centre, they usually sell at RRP (recommended retail price) and for BDP380 it is RM599 (or is it RM699, cannot remember). Better look for it at other electrical shops or even hypermarkets where can get at RM399 sometimes. Also the Samsung 5500 has some complaints on playback problems with original BD - see Andrew san's comment in other threads here; don't know if the newer 5600 has similar issues. In my opinion, the Sony 380 is the best value for money entry level BD player, especially if you can find it at RM299! Also not region locked for DVD so can play those that come with BD from UK.
